Long ago a little girl went on a long journey. She only traveled at night for her mother was the goddess of the stars and the little girl was returning home. Along the way as she travel home she found an injured bunny all alone so she took it in and nurses it back to health. In return the bunny accompanied the little girl and kept watch over her as she slept during the day. They grew to be great friends and shared a friendship the likes of which no ones ever known.
Far away the sun emperor was
jealous of the star goddess because she had so many bright stars to light up the sky at night. The emperor made a plan and sent a venomous snake after the little girl as she slept on the edge of a cliff. The emperor had decided to put out the goddesses brightest star, her daughter.
The snake was creeping was creeping up on the girl and preparing to strike when the bunny pounced on it. The bunny and the snake fought and in doing so they woke the girl. The girl sat up just in time to see the snake bite the bunny and the bunny push the snake over the edge of the cliff.
As the bunny lay dying in her arms from the snakes venom, the girl pleaded to her mother to save the bunny. Seeing her daughter's distress the goddess decided to help her child, but at a price. The snakes venom has destroyed the bunny body, so the only thing she could do was take the bunny's soul and placed it in the stars as a reward for its bravery and loyalty. The goddess have the bunny the brightest stars in the sky so her daughter could always find her beloved friend.
The little girl looks at the sky every night and finds the bunny constellation. The stars twinkle as though the bunny were following the girl where ever she went. That's how she knew that the bunny was still looking over her.
