"So.. anything important happen?" I said, changing the subject.
"Not really.. but I made a card for Lucas!" Riley said showing Lucas a huge, glittery get well card.
"Wow.." Lucas said casting a quick sideways glance at me, "this is great Riley. Thanks." He gave her a half hug.
Again the pang of jealousy hit me. Maybe it all meant nothing.. besides, who could love a sad, broken girl? And how could he want a girl who only visited 2-3 times over someone who stayed with him 24/7? Ok. Whatever. Just don't overthink it, Maya.

At lunch:
Riley ran to Lucas' side and sat with him. Farkle sorta pulled me to the other side of the table.
"So Lucas, how did you get hurt?" Riley said.
"I banged Maya so hard," he said, looking at me with a smirk. I blushed and kicked him under the table. "I'm joking, only joking Maya."
Riley looked really mad but I was pretty proud of my.. boyfriend? No, maybe soon though.. hopefully.
"You all excited for the talent show?" Farkle said.
"Yes!!! Some of us should do something together!! Maybe Maya and Farkle then Lucas and I!" Riley said, grazing Lucas' arm.
"Well I thought I could do something special with Maya." Lucas stared at me and wouldn't look away. I felt pulled into his eyes, his beautiful eyes, all the world fizzled out into nothing except for us. Us.
