Mark's POV

Today is mine and Jack's 5 year anniversary and I couldn't be happier. Now I just need to get back home after buying a big bouquet of roses and some chocolates. Hey...that guy is starting to turn a little too close...WOAH HE'S GONNA HI-

Then there was just black and the sound of sobs.

Jack's POV

Oh Mark, I'll be there soon, sunshine.

I walk into the hospital room to find my precious Mark, my sunshine, my husband lying there, barely awake but when he sees me, he smiles as big as he can behind the breathing tube in his nose. "J-Ja-" he gets cut off by a coughing spasm.

"Oh baby, don't worry, they're gonna fix you all up." "Jack..." "No Mark, you aren't gonna die! I won't let you!" I dissolve into a puddle of despair and sobs, cursing the man who did this, but he's dead and soon that might happen to Mark.

No, I have to stay strong for Mark. "J-Jack please...I have...one f-final request." His heart rate monitor starts to get a little bit slower. "A-Anything." I manage to choke threw my pitiful cries. "Please...sing for me..." "O-Of course." I weakly smile at his request and position myself next to his side so I can stroke his hair like you would a small child being soothed to sleep, only this sleep would be forever. I clear my throats and rub my eyes of the last tears he would ever see.

"You are my sunshine, my only sunshine." The monitor gets slower as I sing, but his famous grin is still there. "You make me happy when sky's are grey." His eyes start to flicker and he blinks rapidly. I can feel him slipping away. "You'll never know dear how much I love you." His heart rate slows to an almost nonexistent beat. His grin falters for a moment, as if he realizes what all of this means. We won't be together for a long time. The grip on my hand loosens and his touch is colder but still not the icy touch of death. "Please don't take my sunshine away."

The only sound to be heard was the droning of his heart monitor. Flat line. No pulse. Goodbye, sunshine.
