How did he end up here? Standing on the cliff edge, waiting to lose everything he built up. This cliff holds a lot of memories, he thinks to himself. What he doesn't see is the man standing behind him a few yards, slowly advancing to stop his terrible decision.

**************flashback**************

"Hi! I'm Seán! What's your name?" A high pitched, 4 year old asks"M-Mark..." a tentative 4 year old replied. "Well hi mark!" The younger, Seán, giggles.

*************fast forward***********

Two boys are seen chasing each other on a cliffs edge. They look no older then 10 and 11. "Come on, Marki. Catch me if you can!"  "You're gonna regret saying that!" Mark tackles jack an starts tickling him. The two were inseparable.

Mark and Jack. The inseparably friends as they were known as. Until Bob dared them to kiss and Mark said no and that he isn't gay. Jack started to cry but he quickly covered it up. "Uh I gotta get home, guys." "Jack it's only 4:30, why do you need to get home so soon?" "I SAID I NEED TO LEAVE, ALRIGHT BOB?" "Jack we are discussing this right now! Let's go!" He was dragged away from Mark and Wade. "What the hell has gotten into you!? You are never like this!" "I...I think I love Mark." His voice was barely a whisper. "Oh...you poor thing. I am so sorry." "It's fine. Now can I go?" Bob nodded and Jack took off running.

************fast forward************
Mark stands there, holding his girlfriend's hand, with Jack at his side. "Hey, are you ok jack?" "Ugh who cares what he needs, baby. Let's go and leave him." She tries to take him away. He pushes her away from him. "Jack. Jack! JA-"

************present time************
"-CK! SEÁN WILLIAM MCLAUGHLIN DON'T YOU FUCKING DARE JUMP FROM THAT FUCKING CLIFF SO HELP ME GOD!!!" That voice...it sounds like Mark. No Mark hates me. Don't be so stupid. I glanced behind my shoulder and immediately regretted it. Standing with tears down his face and the sun setting behind him, was Mark. "You jump off that cliff, I jump too." "Mark let me die here where I was happiest! I can't stand this agony anymore! Can't you see mark that I care so fucking much about you AND YOU LEFT ME FOR THAT GIRL BECAUSE SHE WOULD MAKE YOUR PARENTS HAPPY!? THATS WHAT YOU DECIDED!? ABANDON YOUR BEST FRIEND WHO HAS ALWAYS BEEN THERE FOR YOU JUST SO YOUR PARENTS WOULD LEAVE YOU ALONE!! I LOVE YOU AND YOU JUST COMPLETELY THREW ME AWAY LIME I WAS JUST TRASH! I FUCKING LOVE YOU MA-"

In the time that I had been yelling, I hadn't noticed Mark advancing towards me or that he had moved me from the edge. When I noticed just how close we were, I immediately turned red and tried to get away from him. However, that contradicted his plans as he held a tight grip on my waist.

"Shut the fuck up, Seán." He breathed out, our lips closer than they have ever been. Every muscle in my body was telling me to push him away. But I couldn't bring myself to pushing away the man I loved so dearly. I remained stiff and frozen.

"So you think I don't care about you, huh?" I nodded hesitantly, trying not to pass out from the sheer altitude of the cliff and from Mark being so close. "Well I guess I'll have to change your mind."

He closed the gap between us.
He seemed incredibly calm but I was a nervous and emotional mess. I remained stiff at first but soon relaxed when he grabbed my hands and rubbed his thumb over  my knuckles affectionately.

This all felt too strange to be going on. It felt like it was all just a dream. But it felt so realistic. Mark noticed my expression had changed and frowned once he pulled away from out kiss. "What's wrong, Jack?" "This doesn't feel real. None of this feels like it's actually happened." "Jack I can assure you that this is real. Why? What do you think it is? A dream or something?" I slowly nodded, too embarrassed to look at him.

"Look at me." I shook my head. "Seán, look at me now." I slowly looked up at him, my face flushed and stained with tears. He grabbed my face and kissed my forehead. "Nothing's gonna harm you. Now while I'm around."
