Nutmeg woke with a start. Something wasn't right and she wasn't sure the fucked up dream she had been having was over yet. With a spring like movement she vaulted from her place of rest, landing poised to kill. Her target stood unfazed, so superior in being that he had little to fear from the mammalian.
"You scared the shit out of me." Nutmeg swore at Zero, she supposed it was her default mode, having spent most of her life as prey. Instantly being covered in gore the day before, all while standing by powerless, probably didn't help her nerves either.
The bot remained motionless and as emotionless as ever.
"You know what... fuck this!"
Still feeling jittery she made her way to the hold. The last of the unpacked tech had been stacked in a corner and it was about time she bit the bullet anyway.
"Give me a hand with this." She ordered her faithful companion.
Somewhere in the stack of crates was a device that she had both longed for and dreaded in equal amounts. A device that could assimilate organic with electronic.
"I don't know if you are ready for this." Nutmeg cocked her head at the mechanical marvel, trying pointlessly to read him. "Fuck... I have been preparing for years and I'm not even sure I am."
Zero said nothing leaving her with only her thoughts. Fuck it, I'm going for it Nutmeg pumped herself up internally, as she pulled the contraption free of a crate. If there was ever a time for it, it was now.
The connection tingled as she plugged in and ran the diagnostics. There was no way to tell if it was going to work or not, so she simply started the program.
Impassively Zero fried Nutmeg's body with two thousand volts. Her eyes melting as her body convulsed and wrapped herself in connection cord. He let the current run long enough to cause irreparable damage to her organs, only stopping when her fur started to smoke.
The mind transfer had been a success, at least for him. Had he hesitated a second longer, the urge to let her flesh continue would have become overwhelming. She had chosen freely this path and he did not make her a sacrifice lightly. Somewhere in the back of his mind revulsion and sadness churned at the sight of her body. The last gift she had to give him was herself and there was no other way around it.
Pushing the feeling to his pit he turned his attention to some interesting hardware they had found while shifting boxes. Silently she had wanted to explore this new thing and now her urges were his own to explore.
