We will not be touring this year, however we are working on some very special projects.
I glanced at the clock once I finished replying to a few PMs. 11:24. Better get going. Jo's flight was supposed to get in at 12:30. I locked my computer and headed out of my office. I poked my head into Taylor's office where him and Ike were working on something.
"Hey guys, I'm going to pick up Jo. We'll bring back lunch."
"Alright. We'll text you our orders in a bit."
"Later" I waved to my brothers and headed out into the Tulsa summer heat.
I was enjoying airport people watching when I heard a loud laugh that caught my attention. I turned towards the noise and saw a stunning red head with a contagious smile. Jo. Man I've missed her. I couldn't hide the ridiculous smile that spread across my face at the sight of my oldest and best friend.
"Hey handsome." Jo dropped her bags and instantly wrapped her arms around me. I immediately embraced her and planted a kiss on the top of her head.
"Hey beautiful." I inhaled that ever so familiar scent of sandalwood wood and patchouli.
"God I've missed you. It's so good to see you, Zac."
We stood there like fools smiling at each other for a good five minutes when my phone went off. Digging it out of my pocket I knew just who it would be. Kate. She had only texted me like 500 times this morning already.
I just don't see why you had to go pick her up. She's an adult. Why couldn't she just take a cab?
"The wife?"
"Who else?"
"Sorry man. Don't want to cause any problems...I know she's not my biggest fan."
"Nah, it's okay. She's been weird lately. I don't know what her deal is. She's constantly nagging when she actually talks to me and she's always complaining that we don't have kids. Yeah like now seems like a great time for us to have a kid."
Jo gave me a sympathetic look and I shrugged my shoulders.
"Ah well. Let's go get some food."
