Avi awoke to sound of humming machinery and searing pain around his back and under his left eye. He lay on his back with his head twisted to the side. A strange girl had her back to him, and through is hazy vison, he could see a light green shirt, a black lacy skirt and leather leggings. Her hair was platinum blonde, and when she turned towards him, he saw eyes the same shade of green as her shirt.

'You're awake,' she said. 'Welcome back to the land of the living.'

'Who are you and what did you do to me?' He asked, unsure whether or not to trust this mystery girl. He gingerly touched his left cheek, where the pain had already been erased to nothing more than a dull ache.

'Tracking device. We had to cut it out if you had to come with us.' She said as she put the used syringe in the bin.

'Who's us? And what is this place?'

'Relax. We can't be as bad whoever did this to you.' She started to exit the room. 'Now try and get some sleep okay?'

'Wait.'

She turned towards him. 'What?'

'What's your name?' He asked.

'Kirstin.' She said simply, 'You want to tell me yours?' She teased.

'I'm...' he paused. Was it worth it to tell a complete stranger his name? 'Avi.' He finally replied. That was at least one part of his memory that he could cling to.

'Well, Avi, it's nice to meet you. But I was serious about getting some rest. If you're coming with us, you're in for a hell of a ride.'
