I glanced down at my phone to check the time. 8:59. Shit, second day and I am going to be late for biology. Again. I slept in about 15 minutes this morning, then there was traffic, and for some reason I thought I would have enough time to grab a coffee at Tim Horton's and manage to be at school on time. Little did I know that it was going to take them 10 minutes to make a regular coffee.
I was just a couple feet away from my bio class when the bell rang. I was so close. Urg! I walked in and, once again, everyone stared at me. Then there gazes went to my coffee, snickering. I glared at everyone, including Mr. Jacobs, took a sip of my coffee, and then walked over to the seat I sat in yesterday. I looked out the window and continued to drink my coffee. I didn't need to look up to know that everyone was starring at me.
After about 5 minutes of silence, I lifted my gaze up and found that Mr. Jacobs was starring at me, steam practically coming out of his ears. I looked away.
"JADE!" Mr. Jacobs almost screamed.
I looked at him again. Actually, glared is probably a better word than looked. I was not in the mood for this right now. Mr. Jacobs continued talking, even though I was silently begging him to just let it go. If he didn't just shut up soon, I will probably end up being a bitch to him, seeing how I am in a little bit of a mood. If I am bitchy to him, then I will probably get detention, which will mean I will have to talk to my aunt, thus starting a continuous cycle of me being pissed off.
"Jade, did you even hear what I said? What do you have to say for yourself?" Mr. Jacobs continued, against my wishes.
"I'm sorry I didn't get you a coffee?" I replied, then went back to staring out the window. Apparently, that was the wrong thing to say, because I ended up standing out in the hall, getting a lecture from Mr. Jacobs about the importance of punctuality and also politeness and respect.
10 long minutes later of doing a half ass job of listening to Mr. Jacobs, I mumbled and apology and walked back into the classroom. Thankfully, I wouldn't be getting a detention this time. Although Mr. Jacobs did say that next time I sassed him, I was being sent straight to the principal's office.
The rest of period carried on with him talking and me not listening and staring out the window instead. I was almost asleep when I felt a hand on my wrist. Instinctively, I swung my other arm towards whoever was holding my wrist, not really thinking about the fact that I was in school.
"Ouch! What the hell was that for!" the victim of my slap to the face exclaimed.
"Don't sneak up on me and I won't hit you." I said, not even looking over my shoulder to figure out who I just hit. In all honesty, I did feel guilty about slapping someone in the face, seeing how they didn't deserve it, but I am not one to apologize.
"Yeah, so I was just going to tell you that the bell rung a few minutes ago. And don't think that you can get rid of me so easily. It will take a lot more than a wimpy hit the face to scare me away, love."
And with that, I turned around. I wasn't surprised to find Kaden staring down at me, a red mark on his face. Oops. "Did you just call me love?" I asked. Who does he think he is? He doesn't even know me.
"Yeah. I like it, don't you? Anyways, I am here to walk you to gym class. Wouldn't want you to be late. You ready?"
"I'm not going." What gave him the idea that I was going to be all buddy-buddy with him? I am surprised he is still here, seeing that I just hit him in the face a few moments ago.
"First you are late to class, and now you are skipping?" Kaden questioned teasingly.
"I am not skipping, I am just not walking to class with you." I spat at him, then grabbed my bag and walked out of the classroom. I was at my locker when I heard his voice again.
"You don't need your gym bag."
"What do you mean? I have gym next you-" I started as I turned around to see him standing behind me, an Adidas drawstring back in hand. MY drawstring back. "What the hell? How did you-"
"I saw you do your combo yesterday, and figured I'd help you out so you wouldn't be late. Again." he said smugly.
I grabbed my gym bag and headed down the hall, completely aware that he was always a few steps behind me.

"Jade, if you have the money, I have clothes for you right here." Coach Watham told me. I handed him the $15 I found on the kitchen counter this morning.
I went to change in the girls locker room, which thankfully was empty. I pulled off my leather jacket and black tank top, and slipped on a black athletic long sleeve, then my gym uniform. Then I slipped off my black skinny jeans and replaced them with the gym shorts that fell to my knees. I rolled the shorts up once at the waist so they weren't so long and then headed to the gym.
I gathered in the center of the gym along with everyone else to listen to coach. He explained that for the next month, we would be working on the fitness unit, and also working on our teamwork skills and learning to trust our teammates. Great.
"Jade, since you don't have a partner, and we have an uneven amount of people in this class, you will be joining another group to make a group of three. Who would like to let Jade join their group?" Coach Watham said, dressing the class.
There was silence for a moment, and then someone spoke up. A certain someone named Kaden. "She can join my group, Coach." Kaden said, looking towards the coach for confirmation. Coach Watham nodded and then motioned for me to join them. I walked over to Kaden and the other guy he was with. I pulled my sleeves down as I listened to Coach finished giving instructions on what we would do today.
"Today we will do trust falls and another game. Two groups need to form one big group to play the game. It works by crossing your hands over each other, then grabbing other two hands, both belonging to different people. Once everyone is holding two different hands, everyone must work together to untangle themselves without letting go of the hands you are holding. In the end, you should have a circle of everyone holding hands. Understand?"
There was some nodding and then coach continued, "Once you guys are done, you are to work at the three different stations around the gym with your original groups. Station 1 is push ups and sit ups, station 2 is jump rope, and station 3 is the trust fall. You will be falling from the stage. Don't worry, I set up high jump mats underneath the stage, in case you aren't caught. But everyone will be caught, so don't worry. Okay, get to it. Start by finding one other group and playing the hand game."
I felt Kaden tug on my arm and I followed him to a corner of the gym. I was not looking forward to playing this game. Or doing any of the activities, really. I don't need people touching me.

Thanks for reading! Sorry I haven't updated for a while. This chapter was going to be longer but I decided to write the rest of the gym class in the next chapter instead so that this chapter isn't insanely long. I am not sure when I am going to be able to update again because I have exams coming up soon.
I hope you liked this chapter. The picture at the top of this chapter is of the hand game that they are going to play in gym class, in case you didn't understand what I was talking about. The next chapter will start exactly where this one left off, so you will get to find out what happens in gym class!
