"Pretty good for your first time manipulating aura. I'm sure most other specialist types would have been blind like that for days."
The girl Sherry sat next to me on the couch, laying back away from me finally. Where ever I was though, she seemed a bit too comfortable; her skirt rode up around her thighs as she crossed her legs on the couch.
"Specialist type?" I asked, looking around at the extravagent lounge like area. Vibrant colors and couches were scattered around the room keeping a bright feel but with no specific theme. A banner hung on the back wall had a gun and sword crossed under a crown.
"No matter what species of Neotha people are, they can be divided into a several different types: offensive, defense, analysis, conjuring, manipulating, and specialist." Sherry explained to my still confused ears.
"You still haven't explained, just what are Neotha?"
At that moment the two of them heard a loud booming sound and people arguing from the other side of the door that Razor had gone through.
"Thanks again Razor, really saved my neck back there. Meetings sure are a pain." One voice said that sounded oddly familiar.
"Boss, you can't just skip out on a meeting with your father and the other clan heads!" Razor shouted after this "boss" person.
Sherry sat up and turned to lean over the back of the couch, her skirt fluttering around her legs while her white blouse lifted up to show a bit of midriff. I had no idea who these people were, but this girl was like no other girl I had ever met.
"Here he comes." Sherry said.
The door swung open to reveal the man who had saved me in the alley. It all hit me at once. This guy had killed someone to save me, Razor and Sherry had said he was a vigilante, the crest on the wall, and the way that they referred to this other boy as "boss", all of it fell into place at once in my mind. I was in the hideout of a street gang.
"So? Where is the guy you brought in, Razor?" The blonde haired, blue eyed, boss of the Casadin family said; paying no attention to me and Sherry on the couch.
"He's over here, boss!" Sherry called across the small lounge area.
The other boy's eyes met mine and had a moment of realization.
"You, you're that one guy from the alley. I thought I told you to run and forget anything ever happen?" The boy said as he walked towards me.
"Oh? You saved this kid? Well that explains why he just awoke to his powers, your use of aura around him pushed his powers to the surface." Sherry said, wrapping her arms around me and putting her face next to mine. "Besides, isn't he just adorable?"
The boy gave him a stern look, wiser than his years but also full of arrogance. "If I was the one who brought you into our world then allow me to be the one to guide you through it. You have Sherry and Razor's approval which is enough for me. My name is Trent Casadin, and as the heir to the Casadin family, if you wish to join, I welcome you to the family with open arms, if you don't, I welcome you to death."
