The Consequences of Having a Mate

Chapter 1

     Ally's POV

   The wind was whipping through my hair and rain was pounding against my face, and I had never been happier. I was running as fast as I can through the rain. Since I really can't come out in the sun sometimes, I decided to go outside when it was cold and rainy. My parents almost always keep me in the house unless I have school because I'm part vampire doesn't mean I can't have human friends but apparently it does. As I was running in the woods, this luring smell got to my nose and instead of going home. I turn my direction and follow the smell to the house down the road from my house. I walk out of the woods by an empty house and walk a little ways down the sidewalk. I saw a moving truck parked in front of this beautiful house. I smelt the air and look for the person who held that perfect smell. Then, I spot this cute boy and let me tell you he was smoking hot. My parents told me that I didn't have a mate, but that smell was so wonderful. I soon realize that boy was my mate and my parents lied  to me. Before I could do anything stupid, I ran back home. I went to the kitchen and got some blood from the freezer. I can't believe that my parents lied to me about having a mate.

    "Mom? Dad?" I called for my parents.

     "Ally, we are in the study." I heard my mom say from upstairs.

      I walk upstairs to the study and look inside and sure enough they were there.

       "What do you need, sweetie?" My mom asked me.

        "What I need it's for you guys to tell me the truth about having a mate." I said.

      My dad stiffen and stop what he was doing and look at me.

    "What do you mean Ally? You don't have a mate." My dad said.

     "Well, dad, apparently I do have a mate." I said.

      "What are you talking about, Ally? You don't have a mate." My mom agreed with my dad.

      "Oh really, well you care to explain that while I was running in the woods, I smell a scent that was so wonderful that even Daffy Duck can think straight. I follow the smell out of the woods and to a new family that moved down the road." I said to my parents. They look at me like I was crazy.

     "Come on and follow me. I'll show you what I'm talking about." I said and walk out the house with my parents following.

    "Dad, can you scent other vampire's mates and vampires?" I asked.

     "Yes, honey I can and if you bring me close to the house. I can tell you if they are vampires or not and if one of them is your 'mate'." My dad said as he added air quotes to mate.

     So, my parents follow me down the road.  I stop in front of the house where I saw the new family moved in.

     "We are here." I said. I turn around and look at my parents when I look at my mom, I saw that she was looking at my dad worried. I follow my mother's graze to my father and I see him smelling the air and I thought that his eyes turn red, but his eyes quickly change back to it usual brown eyes color.

     "Dad, are you okay?" I asked

      "Yeah, it just that they are humans and one of them is your mate. I don't even know if that is possible, but it is." My dad said.

   " Well, who is it? Was it the boy I saw earlier?" I ask.

   "Yes, he's about your age, but you have to be careful, Ally. You do realize that he's not yours yet and at your school there's some female vampires that are not mated and can take him. Plus there's male vampires that are not mated and can take you if you want your mate to touch you." My dad said to me.

  I look at my mom and saw that this was too much information for her to accept in one go. She looks like she's going to faint or something.

     "Dad, can we go back home? I got school tomorrow and mom looks like that she about to pass out." I said as my mom's eyes started to close.

    My dad agree with me and picks up my mom and start to walk home. As I was walking home besides my dad, I was thinking about my mate. When we got home, I said good night to both of my parents and went to my room. I got into some pajamas and went to the bathroom and brush my teeth. I walk out of the bathroom and went to bed.
