I woke up the next morning to the sunshine leaking through the window. Only to find Louis gone, I jumped up out of bed and headed to the living room. Where I found Harry sitting on the love seat in the living room watching a tv show that I didn't recognize. "Where's Louis?" I asked trying not to sound so needy as to where Louis was. "He was hungry so he went out to.... never mind." He trailed off as he saw the terrified look on my face. I knew we were vampires but I couldn't bring myself to even think about harming a living, breathing thing. Let alone think about Louis out there doing it right at this very moment. "Lou told me to keep you company while he was out, so... What do you wanna do today?" Harry asked me now flicking through the channels on the tv. "Uhm,.. How about we go ou-outside?" I finally asked now sitting next to him on the love seat. "I don't know if that's such a good idea, with you being new to the whole vampire thing.." "Well I can't sit in here forever! I may be a vampire but I need fresh air too!" I stood up and stomped up stairs to the bedroom. When I sat on the bed I heard Harry slowly open the door. "I know you can't stay in here forever, I'm just scared that you will freak out if you smell even a drop of blood." He exclaimed. "What do you care?" My tone came out carelessly. "I care because I am the one who bit you, well first I mean." "Why me in the first place? Why take me away from my home, my friends, my mother!?" I was so furious. Why did he have to come into my life and take me away from all that I loved. "You don't know, do you?" He asked so calmly. "Know what?" "You were meant to be one of us, a vampire." Now I was even angrier at him. "What are you talking about !" I gritted through my teeth. "You were born into a vampire community. The unexplainable pain you felt in your side, it was your body telling you it was time to change." He tried to explain as he stepped closer. "You're crazy." I spat taking a few steps away from him. "Don't believe me? What does your name mean?" He asked looking me straight in the eye. "I don't know. Why does it even matter ?" "It matters because it is an old vampire term Caitiff means 'vampire with no clan'!" He reached into his pocket and pulled out an old looking necklace and handed it towards me. "What's this for?" I asked still shocked and still thinking he was crazy. "It's from your mother, she told me to give it to you after I told you."
