Chapter 9

~John~

She was asleep. Honestly. She fell asleep in my arm. Her breaths were even and her body seemed like it gained more weight. I wonder what she's dreaming about. No! NO! No! Why am I wondering that?!?

I stopped by the stream where I usually liked to hunt. Alexandra moaned as I set her down on the cool grass. Her face was peaceful as it looked like she was stuck in a dream. I kneeled down by her and watched her chest go up and down as her breaths went in and out.

I started day-dreaming (since that was the only dreaming I could do) about Alexandra and me in a relationship. We would be happy and ignore the comments around us. We would live life to the fullest, because she would stop aging soon. We would be in a beautiful relationship together, forever.

That's where I stopped. We would not be together. She would stop aging but she would fall for another werewolf, not a vampire. We would not be able to stand the smell of each other. But something wants me to be close to her, keep me here. Something, something.

Just then, Alexandra woke up. Her bronze hair was a disaster. She blinked her eyes, groggy from sleep.

~Alexandra~

My eyes were just adjusting to the darkness. John was still here. He actually cared. No. No he was just keeping up to his word. He DOES NOT like me. I would not let myself think that he cares. It is only me, and I am trying to push that feeling out. As would he, if the leech would possibly like me. Which as I said before, is highly unlikely.

I took my chances and drank from the stream. It was not as bad as it seemed. I was so thirsty. I was so thirsty that I forgot John was here until he startled me.

"Is that water good?" He asked as I spit it out of my mouth; thanks to John surprising me.

"Uh, ye- yeah..." I stuttered, embarrassed.

John laughed and said, "You looked like a pheasant who was in the desert and hasn't had water for days!"

I blushed, feeling self-counsious now, and whispered, "I haven't had water or food in days."

"I am so sorry!" exclaimed John, "I had no idea!"

"No, it's fine, really. Don't sweat it."

"Can't. 'Member?"

"Sure, sure." I said, smiling now. I loved the way he talked, especially to me.

"Alexandra!" John cried, looking nervous

"Hm?" Man, I loved the way he said my name.

"Jeez! You scared me, I thought I lost you!"

"Oh" I blushed. John smiled. My cheeks felt like they were burning. I started to wonder if they were an apple red. Probably were. When I looked up, John's ghost white face was coming toward mine.
