Chapter 2: New Faces

I slowly woke up and couldn't figure out where I was. I was in a small darkspace, I could feel my skin rubbing against what I was hoping was carpet. I tried to take my blindfold off but my hands were tied.

I managed to untie my hands, it was a bit loose, whoever had tied this must have been in a hurry. I took my blindfold off and realized I was in someone's trunk. Then it hit me, the guy whose license plate I saw, I started running and it must of been him who brought me here. I could hear music blasting in my ears.

I soon figured we were riding on a really bumpy road, because I was constantly bouncing up and down. After a while of bouncing up and down I started to move side to side. At that point I knew we were turning a lot. It honestly felt like I was in there forever.

This must have been the stupidest thing to do but I fell asleep again. I was awaken by fresh air. The trunk was finally opened. A guy was staring at me, he was hinting at me to get out. I wasn't sure what to do. I got out and started asking a ton of questions. He grabbed me by the arm, the same way a security guard grabs you when you're taken out of a room, I tried pulling away but he just kept me closer. That's when I started asking questions.

I started off, "Who the hell do you think you are? You can't just take me!" from there I went off like a firecracker. "Where are we?"

"I'm sure we've been in that car forever! Please answer me!" I was furious.

He didn't say anything, we walked into a huge mansion, it almost look abandoned. Some windows were broken and the paint was starting to chip off. He still had a tight grasp on my arm, I guess he was making sure I didn't run off. There was a small pathway that lead us from the sidewalk to the main entrance. There was a couple making out on the porch, I looked away. I walked with the guy guiding me, we walked into the house and entered a long hallway. We entered a large dining hall, people were sitting around the table, and as soon as walked in everyone stood up and started to yell "Welcome newbie!" it echoed around the room.

I was full of mixed feelings I had a bunch of questions running through my head. Like how the hell did they know that I was on my way here? What do they mean by newbie? Am I the first one to be brought to them? Why are they so excited about me being here? Where am I?

Everyone opened a bottle of beer, "Cheers to the newbie" they all started chanting. I sat down in between a couple of people, my eyes were starting to water, I needed to stay strong, I couldn't have these people knowing I was scared.

I felt a pat on my shoulder, I quickly wiped the tears away and looked up. A girl was there, she was tall and had red-ish hair. She had a red cup in her hand and looked as if she was ready to party. She looked me with sympathy, and took me into the hallway.

"Okay my name is Eva. What's your name and you've already met William. Do you know why you are here?"

At this point we were sitting on the porch outside. "My name is Isak." I replied shyly

"Oh cool!"

"And who is William?" I asked in concern.

"Oh my gosh, he's so rude, he brings you here and doesn't even introduce himself." she giggled, which made me surprisingly laugh too.

"And no, I have on idea what I'm doing here, can't I just go home?" I looked down, I could feel more tears starting to form again.

"Oh don't cry," I knew she was trying to make me feel better. "William probably brought you because you seemed stressed and needed to get away from life. You see, we're all here because we've all needed to run away from life." she continued, "I'm here because I know my mom doesn't care for me, she's always away on business trips and never has enough time for me, and what I want to do. I'm sure she hasn't even realized I'm gone."

I honestly didn't know how to respond. I looked at her and said, "I'm sure your mom has noticed, she probably has search parties out for you." I chuckled and it made her giggle. I was happy to have made someone laugh.

Then she asked me, "Are you okay?"

I lied and said I was fine, I asked her if I could go to sleep.

"Yeah, here let me show your room."

"I have a room!?" I tried not to sound surprised.

"Um, yeah everyone gets their own room when they arrive here." She replied cheerfully.

"Ok, so you're not planning to kill me or anything?" I asked the question, unsure if I wanted an answer.

"What? No, of course not, what made you think of such a thing!"

"Well I don't know, maybe the fact that I woke up in the back of the car!?" I was almost yelling.

"Oh yeah sorry about that, William tends to go on rages"

"Okay quick question, where am I? Did they take my phone off of me?"

"First you don't need to know where we are, just chill, relax, think of this as a vacation, or a break from your life! And secondly, they most likely took your phone, but don't worry you'll get it soon." She said it as if it was a code that everyone had to follow. Man that shit was deep.

I stared at her blankly, and then she continued, "Oh let me show you to your room."

We walked back into the mansion, through the hallway and up some stairs. "You're lucky your room is near the bathroom, it gets crowded in the mornings." she laughed and we kept walking.

On our way to my room we stumbled into a tall-ish guy, with green eyes and somewhat curly hair . You could smell weed off of him, he looked a bit dizzy.

"And that there is Jonas." Eva said pointing at the tall-ish guy.

We walked to the end of the hallway, and stopped at a white door. On the door there was a huge tag reading 'NEWBIE'.

"This is it!" She looked at me and a huge smile started to spread on her face.

I opened the door, and saw I had my own bed and a small desk. I walked in and she waited in the hallway. "Goodnight" she said.

"Goodnight" I replied.

"If you want we can go to the mall tomorrow so you can get clothes." Then she whispered something I wasn't able to hear.
