**Aurora's POV** (Xavier ^^)

I hated this already. Walking with someone I barely know. It's like hey no one's around and I don't know you but can I come with. He looked to scared to be on his own so I agreed telling him I had a set designation which I didn't. I just wanted to make the world a safer place for my family. It had been a week since I had started walking with Xavier and we learned a little bit about each other. We had completely different lives. I grew up in the wild literally in a tree house in a forest off of Vigilance Lane. He grew up in a suburban mansion being a slave probably getting beaten and his parents were murdered so he grew fond of his nanny. He was only four years old when his parents died.

"I want to ask some simple questions not know about everyone you've lost." I said and he nodded listening to the birds chirping in the sunlight as we strolled down the road no fear because the vampires couldn't harm us right now. "How old are you?" He laughed a little "How old do you think I am?" he said. I glared at him "You can't answer a question with a question, that's like illegal." He smirked at me "Last I checked in a world over run by vampires there are no laws." I hit him decently on the arm and began to pout. "Okay, okay I'm 21, I believe." he said truthfully. I stopped and looked at him "You don't know how old you are?" I gasped. He looked at me sadly. "I had a notebook that was given to me by my master the first day of my new life, the day I can never take back. In the book I made tiny calendars and the first set of 12 looked like shit but it was okay and then I got better year after year and I tried to keep track of how long it had been but I ran out of paper considering he didn't give me a full notebook."

What an asshat giving him a piece of crap. "I noticed probably 3 years in when I was 7, I was just a little kid so I didn't really understand the whole concept that hey time actually matters so I gave up caring about the notebook and the year on that notebook said 2007 but still doesn't help because nobody remembers months anymore because days feel like years." I nodded and then said "Wait I can tell you what year it is, it's 2,023." I said excitedly hoping it would cheer him up instead of thinking about that dreadful place. "Do you by chance remember what month it is?" He said hopefully staring at me. I shrugged "Umm well I was in a town probably about a month ago now and it was April back then so we are probably somewhere in May." I guessed. Xavier said "I'm not 21 I can't drink." He acted like he was tearing up a bit. I laughed hysterically we all knew their was no alcohol left unless you made it yourself and the smell of that would get ya killed. "I'm 20, i'll be 21 in January though."

We continued to walk down the street and it began to grow a little dark. Xavier became more tense once the sun went down. He seemed frightened by all of this. He didn't know what to do. He grew up being a docile little obedient boy and now suddenly he's on his own being hunted yet free. I heard something off in the distance. It sounded like them. We looked around realizing we had walked too far and there wasn't another forest to go and hide in. I looked at Xavier and said "we are probably going to have to fight our way out of this one." He looked at me utterly terrified. I said "Pick your poison because I'm gonna need your help." I opened up my goodies bag. There were all sorts of guns and little throwing stars, with some wooden stakes on the side pouches.

He reached inside my bag very nervously. He didn't seem ready to hold a gun. So I took his hand out and handed him the throwing stars. He gave me that look like are you trying to get me killed. "You see these run down houses were gonna go behind them and creep our way up." He nodded and followed silently behind me holding the throwing stars like they were burning him. That is when I heard the argument. "You are gonna die now kid." the monster yelled at the boy in the dark cloak. He ran at him claws out and the boy simply side stepped him last second like it was nothing. The other vampires stood there astounded. They began to ready themselves too attack.

The boy pulled out a beautiful black steel katana. He pointed it at his enemies. "Back up." He stated and I was shocked. How could a mere human say that to at least 20 + vampires. I looked at the vampires something was wrong here. They were all in uniform. The Royal Guard. The Royal Guard attacking a boy? The vampires didn't step back like he had ordered but they didn't storm and kill him on the spot. Something was defiantly wrong here.

"The Royal Guard has been given orders from the king to kill you abomination!" A vampire stepped forward pointing a gun at the boy. The boy raised his katana toward them. I looked at Xavier and motioned with my head now! He threw the first throwing star and cut the vampire holding the gun's hand off. They looked around shocked and we hide back in our position. What was wrong here. They didn't see us but they seemed more concerned about us than the boy. Then there eyes finally rested back onto the boy after the vampire got over losing his hand.

Psych he didn't actually get over it he played it cool till he ran at the boy and went to attack. I raised my gun with one hand and had my other hand on the sword case on my back. It had been my mother's and my weapon of choice. I didn't get a chance to pull the trigger before the boy in a firm smooth streak cut the vampire in half and we watched as he turned to dust. I had never seen a vampire die before by anything but a wooden steak. Apparently mortal weapons can't deal the final blow. So what makes this kids sword different.

We watched in questionable awe as he swirled, and twirled and parried to avoid the vampire's chaotic overwhelming blows with modern weapons and some their own supernatural powers. He used his blade to counteract. I nodded one last time at Xavier before running into the chaos. Strike one, don't keep your back towards me. I ran full force yanking my sword out of its case at the vampire closest to me I jumped and kicked him down and stabbed my blade through his chest. The vampire looked at me and went to try and strangle me as I skillfully whipped a wooden stake out of my back pocket. "Bye Buddy!" I said as I thrusted it into his chest.

Onto the next guy. I turned around and made eye contact with the boy for a second while he was in a counter. His eyes constantly pleading to me to run. I took down one vampire after another constantly dealing blows to their lower more fragile parts and staking them immediately after. I got grabbed by behind by a buff mongrel. I struggled while being strangled and gasping for air to reach my stake from my back pocket. Then I felt something gently graze the back of my head and my threat dropped. I looked and saw a throwing star sticking out of his head. The vampire looked at me trying to pull the throwing star out of his forehead and I staked him on the spot.

After probably an hour of fighting we eliminated all our targets, kicking the dust that blew around our feet. I looked at the boy and before getting to yell at him for doing something so idiotic, Xavier trotted over to me "Wow, that was amazing! You are a skillful swordsman...I'm Xavier and you are..." The boy looked at him and huffed "None of your business." He tried to walk away from us but I kicked him down from behind. "Hey buddy we fought with you to get fucking answers and your gonna give them to us you arrogant ass dick!" I yelled while kneeing into his spine.

"Now first question no mortal weapon can deal a final blow to a vampire so how can your sword kill them." I asked.
