Chapter 5

"Alpha, may I come in?" I asked politely from the doorway.

"Ah! Delilah, please do come inside." He smiled at me, his brown eyes twinkling with joy.

I carefully walked inside his study and took a seat in front of his table. Making sure that my eyes were lowered as a sign of respect. It bothered my wolf a little but she understood our position and luckily, she held high regard for his decisions.

"Well, you did an excellent job, Delilah. I am happy that it was you who was sent to The New Moon territory." He looked up  from the files he had in hand.

"The Imperial and Dark Mountain Pack are also plotting against the New Moon Pack. We have already pledged our allegiance to them, which was discussed in the meeting held today." He said as he handed a yellow file to me.

I nodded my head and took it from his hand, placing it on my lap and slightly peering inside. There were names and pictures of men, women and children along with an elaborate details on their wolves. The facts mentioned were so accurate and plausible that I was taken aback by it. The people and wolves stated there were definitely not from our Pack. So why was he giving this to me? And why does Alpha Matt have this?

"Leave all this and lets go to our mate!" My wolf yipped in my head. She threw in a picture of him in my head, almost making me sigh. So freaking handsome. I kept staring at the folder when I chatted up with my wolf

"We are with Alpha Matt. Besides, if Mr.Ruthless wanted us then he would have stopped me when I left." I grumbled, feeling my heart sting. My mate didn't stop me when I left, how caring!

"Did you not feel the power that radiated off him? You should have mated with him then and there Delilah." My wolf snapped.

"You mean we should have done the dance without the pants on a goddamn cliff with the Alpha of the Imperial Pack lying next to us and my brothers standing by the side?" My sarcasm made her grumble some more but she did become silent.

"With all due respect Alpha, why are you giving me this?" I questioned pretending as if I was busy reading the entire time.

He looked over from across the table, his eyes scanning once over the file before his eyes grew wide with fear. I could see the Alpha's face turn visibly white which really scared me.

"Alpha? Are you okay?" I whispered, already getting out of my seat to get him a glass of water.

"That was confidential Delilah. It has certain Pack details." He murmured roughly as he pulled the file and stuffed it into a drawer.

"Of course Alpha, it is absolutely no problem." I smiled, trying to reassure him.

"The reason I called you here today is very important. But I do ask you this, please do not talk about this to anyone, okay?" He asked smiling a little at me.

"Sure. Anything you say Alpha." I smiled back.

"You have a playful attitude, you can take care of the Pack and also hold a very good rank." Alpha looked at me. I nodded my head, gesturing the Alpha to continue which he did, "I wanted you to mate with Andrew, the future Alpha of The Crescent Moon Pack." He moved back and settled in his seat. 

My wolf growled just as Alpha Matt spoke these words. I was left truly crushed and bewildered by his request.

"Alpha let me just stop you there-" I was cut short by a knock on the door of the study.
