A young girl was sat at the very back row of desks. She helplessly wrote math equations without understanding them.

A sigh of determination left her pink lips so she tightened her grip on the pen.

"You aren't going to achieve this test even if you memorize the book." One of her classmates said jokingly, making the other kids to chuckle.

"Haha, how funny." She rolled her eyes and focused again on the notebook.

"Hey Meg, don't listen to them, you're the most intelligent sis in the world!" Yelled a boy who had just entered the classroom. The girl named Meg smiled upon hearing her brother's words.

There was a boy who seemed totally bothered by the scene that was being unfolded in front of his eyes, slightly envious of the relationship the infamous twins had.

The music on his phone was too loud to allow him to listen to what others were saying around him.

He didn't bother opening a book to study for the upcoming test, knowing his parents would do something and magically his grades would be better.

The minutes passed and the bell signalling the beginning of another hour rang. The strict teacher entered the classroom and the test began right away.

Meg was struggling with every single exercise yet was still optimistic. On the other hand the boy had already finished writing, he was negative about the results tho.

"I failed. " Said dramatically the short haired girl.

"Be positive!"

"I'm positive I failed."

"Gosh..." Her friend, Hikari said with a groan as the two walked to the cafeteria. Megumi's eyes fell on a lonely boy who was sit by himself, he only had an apple on his tray. She frowned her eyebrows at the sight but shrugged as she followed her friend.

"Yuta is always so rude, distant. I wonder what you see in him." Hikari talked with her mouth stuffed with toast.

"I know he is not like that, he must be different." Was the latter's answer.

"Whatever you say." Said Hikari before turning her attention back to her breakfast.

But Megumi's eyes never left the boy named Yuta. She wanted to talk to him, but feared rejection. Her hopes crashed when she saw him leaving the cafeteria.

The day quickly passed, Megumi found herself all alone in her small house. No mother to make her hot soup, no father to ask her how her day was.

Megumi threw her bag on the floor and watched its content being spilled but she shrugged and walked to the kitchen. Once again finding absolutely nothing to make her hunger go away.

"Mom? Where are you and dad?" Her voice echoed in the living room as she left a voice mail to her mom, since the woman herself was too busy to consider informing her family.

"Jo, are you coming home late?" She said, without getting a response.

"Jo?"

"Hey are —" The line was cut before she could finish her sentence. Meg got worried, but couldn't do much.

She lifted her textbooks from the ground and tried to study but her mind was too occupied to even remember what she read.

And like this, she waited.
