"Cheer up Meg! You wouldn't want others to see you in this state!" She wiped her cheeks and laughed at how pathetic she was. It wouldn't be pleasing if her classmates ever saw her like this, it would ruin her image.

The always bright girl that makes everyone happy.

She stood up and walked away. A naive girl like her hadn't noticed a curious boy hiding right behind her.

She mentally prepared herself to hear the worst, while Yuta was waiting for her to completely get lost from his sight.

The door to her apartment was unlocked and even worse open. Pushing the metallic door, she found the small apartment empty leaving her by herself.

She walked to the bathroom and splashed cold water to her face in order to wake up. Her eyes fell at her reflection in the mirror. The concealer had washed off, revealing her dark circles.

Exhaustion, lack of sleep, stress.

Her daily routine consisted of studying, housework, part time job and then more studying. Meg barely had time to herself.

Calmly searching through the shelves, a small light blue bottle stood at the very back of the top shelf. Taking it to her hands, she eyed the pills.

Before she could open it, her phone vibrated inside her pocket.

unknown number
Hi

meg.i
wth? who you & how did you got my number?

unknown number
u okay?

meg.i
answer me first.

unknown number
it doesn't matter. Are u okay?

meg.i
Yeah I guess

unknown number
thats what i wanted to hear. See ya

Meg was dumbfounded, her mind couldn't think of someone. She just stared at the phone screen with confusion.

With a small smile, she placed the bottle of antidepressants back at the shelf. She wasn't going to commit suicide. No, she just wanted to feel better. She wasn't strong enough to take her own life. She knew she was a coward.

Yuta could also be described as a coward, always backing away from problems, not facing truth. But it was his time. He felt slightly happier to know that a total stranger to him was okay. Little did he know he stopped her from her small addiction.

He felt happy for once after years.

Yuta was brighter than usual, bringing confusion to his parents and especially to his mother, who wasn't in the best state. She was mad, for reasons she was hiding. Everyone could tell that something had happened, but the stubborn woman wouldn't talk.

"Yuta, how was your day?" The woman named Kiyoto said sharply.

"Like any other." Yuta answered her, but his tone was different. A word wasn't said after his answer, which only suffocated him more.

And when he had finished his lunch, with no manners he stood from the table and walked to his room. His thoughts never leaving the girl.

Could this be a small and silly crush?

But Yuta couldn't explain it. He, himself, couldn't clearly tell what he felt when he saw and heard her cry.

Maybe he felt bad for her.

But if it was just him feeling pity towards her, he wouldn't be that interested in the back story, would he?

That day Yuta slept thinking positively about future. His future, Meg's future.
