Anyways...

Today I was out at Wal-Mart picking up some cereal.

I saw this lady and she was so pretty... Like, the definition of pretty and since I like making peoples days, I decided I'd go up to her.

Me: *Walks up to lady with a smile on my face*

I smile at her and I clear my throat.

I said hello and was like, "Ma'am, I'd like to tell you that you are very pretty and your make up Is really pretty."

As I said that, I had a big smile on my face and this lady just gave me a tight lipped smile.

This women goes,  "Mmh, yeah I know."

Instead of pointing out her rude attitude, I said...

"I thought I'd say that. Have a kind day."

The lady let her eyes roam around my body and she scowled at me!

But Instead of being rude back and sinking down to her level, I smiled and gave a small wave back.

I walked around a bit more and gathered some fruit.

Well, I saw this lady and you could just look at her and tell she was struggling. 

She had on too short jeans and a dirty short sleeved shirt.

I made eye contact with her and gave her a big smile.

Me being me, I walked up to her.

I said hello, and go...

"Hello! Ma'am, I'd like to say that you are very beautiful."

As I said this, her eyes got big and she began to tear up.

This totally broke my heart and I wanted to cry too, simply because this lady was upset.

She suddenly gave me a hug and I gave one back.

She told me thank you and that no one had ever gave her a compliment in such a long time.

Well, I just got to thinking.

There Is a fine line between being confident and being rude.

That first lady was being so rude, but Instead of sinking down to her level, I kept a smile on my face and stayed nice.

The other women...

I hope she get's what she needs In life and I'm glad I got to make at least one person smile today.

So, today's lesson Is that no matter how many times you compliment someone, there will always be a hater, but there will always be one person who cares and who respects your kind words.

If you do happen to run Into someone and they treat you badly, all you have to do Is shake It off.
