It was many moons since Greypaw had left Fireclan. Greypaw had gone through the old torn up forest, when the clan cats moved to the lake. She ran through the huge Twoleg territory, not stopping once. Once she got to safety she climbed a tree and slept there, safe from foxes. I would never go near a fox as long as I live. She silently vowed then fell asleep in the safety of the oak. She woke and continued her journey, not knowing where to, but she was headed to the lake. A few days after traveling, she ended up a tail length inside the Shadowclan border, she sheltered under a holly bush, knowing she had reached the place where Shadowtail told her where her destiny lies. She woke the next morning to a low growling and a stench of something, she sniffed the air and froze. Fox! Greypaw's fur stood on end and she quietly backed out of the holly bush, being alert for the fox. Suddenly she felt hot breath on her back, and a horrible stench that made her gag. The fox was behind her. Greypaw spun around and yowled at the fox, "Get lost flea pelt! You killed my family! Why should I let you kill me too" Greypaw jumped on the fox and clawed its ears, the fox shrieked in pain and anger and flung her off, she got back on her paws before you could say mouse, and tackled the fox, clawing its muzzle and flank. The fox bit Greypaw's shoulder and she yowled in pain but kept attacking the fox. She got a grip on its tail and bit down hard, breaking the flesh and feeling blood swell up in her jaws. The fox shrieked in pain and clawed Greypaw's ear, tearing it. She bit down harder and the fox ran away whimpering in pain. Greypaw fell to the ground in pain, panting and trembling from the fight. A cat shadow fell across her, and she looked up to see a gray and white she-cat, her pelt silver in the sunlight. Greypaw was too tired and weak to say anything, so she closed her eyes and let the she-cat drag her through the forest.
