"Hey watch out" I heard someone shout as the ball came flying towards me knocking me down. God, why am I so unlucky.
As I was trying to get up a boy came running towards me. It seemed like he was a junior. "I'm really sorry" he gave his hand trying to help me up. "Why can't you boys just stay on the field" I muttered as I got up from the pathway that leads to the building.
"I really am sorry. I didn't intentionally do that. It just got out of hand" he said scratching his neck.
"Yeah whatever" I replied, going to find my friends. My name is Samantha, I'm in senior year of my high school. So yeah my life is pretty much awesome, except for these little accidents that I get myself into. I'm perfectly fine. I love my school even though it gets hectic at times. And it always gets better with my crazy friends around me. I'm kind of studious because I need to study to get decent marks, unlike few people who have photographic memory. I envy them! This year is very important to get into a reputed college.
So right now we have these revision tests going on. And I have just completed my computer science test now and to my surprise it wasn't as hard as I expected it to be. And by the looks of the empty hallway I finished the test way earlier than my friends. I guess I'll have to wait for them to finish their tests.
My school, like all the other schools in India had uniforms. This is followed to reduce the difference between the poor kids and rich kids by the way of their dressing. And also to maintain the equality between the students. The uniform was light blue and white stripped shirt along with Navy blue pinafore for girls and Navy blue full pants for guys. That's it, nothing more because it's always hot in here and wearing over coats would be suffocating.
There were few people walking down the corridors, either they were juniors who did not have the extra tests or those seniors who completed it fast like me. So here I am, looking at the guys playing football and getting really bored by the minute. As I was wondering if I will get hit by the ball again I saw my friends Priya and Jessica walking towards me. Finally!
Priya is a studious girl, unlike me she tops everything. And yeah she's the one that teaches everything at the last minute of exams. Both Jessica and Priya were good looking while I looked pretty much normal. They both had pretty brown eyes while I had the plain black eyes. We three have been best friends from 3rd grade.
"OMG what were you girls writing for this long?" I exclaimed.
Priya shrugged, "I was just writing everything I know, I lost track of time" Yup she was the girl who tops every test. While Jessica pouted "I thought that paper was hard"
"Guess what? I just got hit by the football. Those boys don't know to play the game" I pouted.
Jessica laughed her ass off "Oh my god, you always get into some kind of mess Samantha", while Priya looked amused and asked "Are you okay?" I gave Jessica my death glare and mumbled "Yeah I'm okay" God what kind of friends do I have?
Priya laughed "Okay you guys let's get going" she said as we started walking towards the entrance of the school. And today was the last day of school until the final exams started.
"I'm really excited" said Priya "Holidays are going to be fun"
"Oh really? What are you going to do that's remotely related to 'Fun'" said Jessica narrowing her eyes at her.
"I agree with Jess, it's going to be a pain in the ass. I'm just going to get bored" I said.
Priya shrugged "Unlike you guys I enjoy having quality time with myself" causing Jessica to role her eyes at her.
"Guyss, Look who's there!" Jessica said looking at the golden guy of our school Keshav, who was walking towards his car. He was the only person in this school with a flashy car. Even in that plain uniform he was wearing, he managed to get everyone's attention. And with his good looking traits he had girls at his feet. But he was always a reserved and did not open up himself to anyone. He moved into this school last year and always hid behind that poker face. He never tried to make friends. Few people said that he lost his brother in an accident. Few said that he was always on drugs. Few people went a bit extreme saying he killed his own brother. Anyways I don't believe any of those.
He had jet black eyes, he was tall, the hair, everything about him was standing out.
"Where is that one guy he hangs out with?" I asked her as we walked out of the school premises. Yes he did have one friend in this school, and he was way too quiet..
"Wondering the same" Jessica said "OK guys decide something to do and text me soon. These holidays are going to kill me"
"Of course" Priya said. With that Priya and I bid our goodbyes. Jessica left the opposite way, her apartment was close to the school. While Priya and I had to walk about 15 to 20 minutes to reach our houses. And we were neighbours, so we always accompanied each other.
As we were talking about random stuff, we heard a honk from behind. When I looked back it was none other than the golden boy himself. He sped down the road to god knows where. That guy was always a mystery.
"So yeah think about a plan Priya" I said
"We'll meet at my house tomorrow. And then we'll decide okay?" Priya said.
I agreed with her and I texted Jessica to meet us tomorrow. We'll just have to figure out something. Somehow I'm getting a feeling that tomorrow is going to be interesting. I just didn't know what it is yet.
I guess I'll have to wait.
