Disclaimer: I own nothing. A/n sorry for the super long chapter 4. I just wanted to get the jist of the character and the interactions between the cast and Maddy. This is a continuation of last chapter. There is a time skip to a few minutes and a whole lot of laughs later to when Maddy, Corey and the gang do the scene. Enjoy!
Well, I might be an official part of the group even if I don't get the part. We all have so much in common. It feels like I have been apart of the group since the beginning. "Ok gang, you ready for your first scene together?" Micheal calls over. "Our first scene. Hopefully the first of many. Don't get your hopes up, it may not happen". Peyton waves at the table and motions for us to get into position. The scene is Missy Bradford is going to be harassing me outside and throws my glasses into Topanga's. that's where Riley, Maya, Lucas, Farkle and Zay are going to be. Farkle is going to pick up my glasses at the same time as me and there is going to be immediate sparks. But we don't know it yet. We are going to start as friends and start to gain feelings for each other over time. He is going to turn awkward and tries to flirt with me but ends up saying the wrong things until Riley steps in and as usual in her Riley way manages to fix things. We do the scene and the adults stare at us with amazement. My natural chemistry with the group made the scene a whole lot easier. I was a little nervous to be off script, but Amir mouthed my lines whenever I looked in his direction. After we were done, Michael gave us a thumbs up and called the rest of the girls inside the room. The cast sat down and we mouthed the last few lines of the scene. "Well then, the Clique Six is back in action!". The other girls file in and we all stand in a line facing the table and the cast. Michael stands up to address us. "You all did fantastic on your scenes. You all brought your best selves to this audition. Now, let me ask you this: why do you want to be on the show?". The girls and I think for a few minutes. One steps up and speaks first, "I want to be famous and have boys ask me out". One looks around and steps back. "I want to have a hot, sexy man in my life" Two says as she winks. flirtatiously at Corey. She turns back to the table and the cast drop their jaws. Out of the corner of my eye, I see Teo and Uriah make silent gag noises and I giggle a little. "Ugh, I just want to be on for one episode, passionately kiss what's his name and still be a series regular to get paid". Three smiles smugly and steps back. "Unless you want to be credited as a recurring cast member, you will need to appear in the majority of the episodes" Michael says to her. Her smug grin disappears and turns into a pouty face. The other girls say their answers and the atmosphere gets denser after every girl speaks. The answers aren't well thought out and they sound more flirtatious towards Corey then professional. "Well, one answer left. Maddy, why do you want to be on the show?" Michael says to me. Thinking back to my evaluation of myself in the mirror and my rant at the tv, I compile my thoughts and close my eyes. Letting my voice carry on my thoughts.
No filter needed, I start. "I would like to be on this show to help make a difference. To make a difference in the lives of the next generation of viewers to help them understand aspects of life. Kids watch tv to be entertained, if they learn something along with that then that's even better. They will be more interested in the premise of the show. This show has real characters with flaws and real personalities. Viewers can go into their everyday lives and see the characters personalities in people they already know. The messages conveyed through the lessons resonate with people and stick in people's minds. We can apply the lessons to our own lives in the craziest ways imagined. Adults who grew up with Boy Meets World are watching our show and loving it as much as the target audience is. The characters are not made out to be Mary Sue or Gary Stu characters. They are real and show what kids at that age are feeling. We are teens playing teens who are going through the same situations off screen and on screen. We don't have a bunch of twenty somethings trying to tap back into their past selves. We are living the experiences right now and applying what we know to everyday life. The actors in this show have natural chemistry that shows. It makes scenes so much easier to do. When I did the scene with them, it felt like I had known them forever. Even though I had only just met them. Being in that scene with them felt natural. Like I had been there since the beginning. For everything major that has happened in every episode. I could go back through all 72 episodes and insert Taylor into everything. That's how much love I feel for this character. When I put on my imaginary glasses, I turn into Taylor no questions asked. I am Taylor, Taylor is me". I open my eyes and find myself staring into a camera lens. I tilt my head to the side in a questioning manner and turn my eyes to Michael. "Instead of the taped chemistry read and the callbacks, we taped your audition scene with the cast. Also some of the rehearsal process to see how well you take directions. We have been taping this whole time. We are actually running on a tight schedule to get season four churned out. We have decided to not do the summer special to save money. We have a much bigger surprise in store for you." He turns towards me with a smile on his face. All traces of the earlier tiredness gone from his voice. He went on. "Maddy, your answer is exactly what we are looking for. You are also the correct age for the role. Unfortunately, the rest of you girls are not even close to the age range we are looking for. Miss Rooke here is right in the range and has captured the character beautifully. The whole cast is taken with you and frankly I felt that you belonged here as soon as you walked through the door". My mouth drops open in surprise and the other girls snatch their resumes and headshots and storm out the door in a huff glaring at me as they do so. I ignore the nasty stares and try to get my head in a clear state. "What is going on? Is this the part where I wake up and realize it's all a dream? Do I actually have a chance of being on the show? If this happens, my whole life is going to change. For the better". I snap out of my thoughts and focuse back on Michael's rambling. "....We haven't made an executive decision yet, but we will be meeting with the rest of the production team and we will call you when the final decision has been made". I nod my head, get my stuff and go to hug my new friends. "Even if I don't get on, I hope we can remain friends". They all nod and we embrace in a group hug. We untangle our arms and I turn to leave. Before I close the door, I hear Rowan and Sabrina sing some lines from the theme song. I quietly sing along as I walk out. "I've been waiting for a day like this to come....".
