Beep! Beep! Beep!

I tumbled out of my bed. I was exhausted, but my motivation for rising early was good enough for me. Beep! Beep! I slammed my wrist on the clock, the alarm button scratched thin tissue off my skin. I hissed in reaction to the annoying pain. I looked at the clock, 5:00 A.M. Damn... It was cold in here. I used one hand to cover my body with a blanket. I grabbed some clothes out of the dresser. I was going to take a shower and look nice today. I rushed to the bathroom and stopped for a moment. I looked at the random clothes in my hands and put them to my face to smell them. They were clean, obviously. But was I really going to impress Kellin with a paint splattered shirt and ripped jeans? I slowly walked back to my room, hoping I didn't wake anyone up.

Everything in the dresser wasn't good enough. I searched in my closet. There was an old tux, and some hoodies. I found my favorite Snow White's Poison Bite pullover. "I've been looking for this!" I realized I had cheered too loudly. My hand naturally covered my mouth as I looked towards the door. My eyes trailed around and I noticed my room was a big mess of clothes. Oh well... I'll clean this later. I finally found jeans that weren't ripped or had some sort of writing on the legs. It seemed quite small, but it'l make do.

I tip toe'd to the bathroom with my specially picked clothes in tow. I slowly closed the door and locked it behind me. I dropped the clean clothes on the toilet seat. I turned on the shower faucet and let hot water release. The tiny bathroom was already fogging up. I slipped into the shower and felt the relaxing hot water. The heat uncurled my tense muscles. I was nervous...

I hope Kellin doesn't assume badly of me based on my first impression. Oh God, what if he does?

Stop worrying, Vic. He probably doesn't even think about you. Probably not...

After I made myself squeaky clean, I turned the faucet off and slipped out of the comforting steam into the cold fog. "Vic? Is that you?" I jumped and slipped onto the concrete pavement. I hit my butt and groaned in pain. I've had worse.

I recognized it as my dads voice. He must be getting ready for work. "Yeah it's me, I'm getting ready for school." I quickly got up and rapped a towel around my waist.

"You okay? What the hell was that noise?" dad said over the door. I squeezed water out of my long hair into the sink. I wiped the fog off the mirror and looked at my pitiful face. I dragged a finger along my jawline. I need to shave.

"I fell, but I'm fine. You need the use the bathroom or something?" I really hope he didn't.

"Nah I'm about to leave for work. Have a good day at school." Yeah right. Twenty seconds after that I heard the door slam. What a sorry ass thing to say, 'have a good day at school.' It wasn't too long ago I begged him to be homeschooled but 'we don't have the time to educate you two all day.' My first year as an eleventh grader, the grade I'm in right now actually, I had the shit beaten out of me on the very first day. Yes, the first fucking day of school. I didn't even know who the hell these white trash people were. But right as my brother and I were walking home, three guys walked up to me and threw the first punch. I remembered them from lunch that day, but I didn't give these sleezy asses a reason to come at me.

They threw me on the asphalt ground and kicked my stomach so hard I tasted blood dripping out of my mouth. Thank God they didn't go after Mikey. He ran for help and police cars arrived fifteen minutes later. They came just in time, I felt like I was beginning to pass out. They arrested the assaulters and I was hospitalized for two days. I'm surprised mom and dad didn't stop us from walking home again.

I got dressed and did everything I could to look decent. I walked back to my room and checked the time. 6:00 A.M. already? Mike must be up. I walked to his room and put my ear to the door. I heard muffling. We usually started walking by six-twenty. I still have time to kill. I walked to my room next door and logged onto my laptop. I got on facebook and saw a message and a notification. One message from Kellin Quinn and Kellin Quinn accepted your friend request. I felt a zing at that moment and any uneasy nerves were settled.

The message read "Hey! You're that one guy who sits behind me in like second or third period. Lol sorry if I came off as rude. I used to be homeschooled and I kinda acted like that to everyone. Well maybe we can hang out sometime." My faced curled into a huge smile. My cheeks began to hurt.

"Vic, you ready to start walking?" I heard Mikey shout. I shut down my laptop and threw my backpack over my shoulders.

"Yeah I'm coming!" I shouted over the door. I greeted Mikey at the front door and we slammed the door behind us. The early morning sun was peeking over the horizon.

"What are you so smiley for?" Mike asked me. Damn it.

"Oh I just feel like today is gonna be a good one." I remembered the picture frame was still in my bag.
