Negan
I couldn't stop thinking about it and I couldn't stop thinking of what I could do to fix this. She can't just leave. This isn't about what I did to her family, this isn't about the fact she left me for them, this isn't about the fact she broke my heart. All that matters now is our unborn child. I don't care what I have to do, I won't lose them again. I raced down the road as my men tried to keep up behind me. I️ wasn't paying attention and mowed down two walkers who were in the middle of the road. How? How could she just leave like that? How could she do this when she's pregnant? I neared further down the pavement and saw the gates to the community growing bigger in the distance. I was scared, it was a stubborn feeling that I had harshly been reintroduced to ever since Ann came back into my life. Scared of what I will say or the fact I might break down in front of everyone. "Just focus." I told myself and took a deep breath when I stopped the truck.
I saw Ann. She was standing at the gate with a gun in her hands. Despite it all, my heart warmed and broke all at once. I saw her face, but I also saw the dread after she caught sight of me.
"Just focus." I repeated the advise and jumped out of the driver's seat, straightening my stance and strolled with a faux confidence in my step as an unnamed member pulled back the metal of the gateway.
"Boy, do I hope you just came back here for some extra clothes." I didn't even know where to begin but I tried with everything I had to keep the act going as I watched Ann descend down the ladder to face me from behind the bars. "Negan." She whispered and I didn't know how to start.
Ann
"You shouldn't be here," I huffed, already feeling a stomachache coming on. Negan seems to have a knack for upsetting pregnant women."You did just leave without a word. And I don't count this pathetic excuse for a goodbye." He crushed the hand written note in his leather cladded hand and flung it to the ground. "I don't owe you anything. Not after..." I was cut off by the sound of approaching footsteps and soon Rick, along with Michonne, Carl, and Glenn had arrived at the gate.
"Well, hello there!" Negan cheerfully sang as he eyed down Rick. "Sorry to bother your sunny afternoon. I just have some personal matters to attend to with Ann."
"I'm sorry. He just showed up." I looked up at Rick, he only offered a nod of understanding, not taking his eyes off Negan. "Ann came back here. I think that's a pretty big hint you might want to reconsider." His fingers laid steady on his pistol and my stomach twisted thinking of what I should do to get Negan far away from me and the rest of Alexandria. "Oh, I would have, but considering this," he grabbed the white stick out of his pocket and threw it between the bars of the gate. "I think I have a pretty big say on whether or not I can speak with my pregnant wife."
My body tensed at the sight of my secret on the floor and suddenly all eyes were on me. I didn't tell them. I was afraid of what they might say and ashamed at myself.
"Ann..." Glenn spoke up but I shook my head. "I just...didn't want to tell you guys...not yet. I'm so sorry." I whispered and could hear Negan chuckle behind the bars. "Don't feel left out. She didn't tell me either." He laughed one more time. "Listen," I turned back to face him.
"I left. This is my home, this is my family, and this is my baby." I threw the rifle down, unable to deal with another of Negan's taunts. "I've made my decision about this. What will it take for you to leave!" I shouted and for once since he got here, his smile faded. "I just want to talk." This time his voice was low and humble.
I took a deep breath and walked over to Rick. "I need to do this. Whatever it takes to just get him away." I whispered in a hushed tone. "I'll have someone stay close by if anything, anything happens." I nodded and hugged him. The rest of the group followed suit with the same hugs and whispers that they would be close. I paced myself and turned on my heel, walking back over to the gate. Opening, I stepped out as Rick closed the bars behind me. "Bye now, Rick. I'll miss ya." Negan smiled, walking backwards towards the truck.
"Careful, now." He tried helping me into the passage seat but I rebuffed his action and slammed the door shut behind me. He slid into the driver's seat. "Now, what in the fuckery fuck!" I already regretted agreeing to this.
And I'm back! Well..I don't know. I hope this was good but I don't know. You the reader deserves a good story and I hope that's what I can make.
