Chapter 2:Food Before Dudes.
If you think about all the things that'll make you cry... Rosie is the main one on my list.
She is such a beautiful and high-spirited girl. Out of all the people in the world why should she have terminal cancer...
Her doctors say she has around four more years to live... she'll only be fourteen.
Must be heart breaking to Asher... Shanti told me about their family before we walked into her room.
Their dad was an alcoholic and disappeared when Rosie was born.
It took a giant toll on Asher, he and his dad were really close. Their mom became a drug addict when Rosie was three years old.
Asher's life is kinda like mine though... Rosie starts laughing and I'm suddenly pulled back into reality.
"What? Sorry I wasn't paying attention." Asher looks at Shanti trying to stifle his laugh.
Rosie smiles at Shanti while a nurse walks into the room holding a tray of different food.
Asher looks at me smirking. Shanti quickly puts his hand on my elbow to guide me out of the room while Rosie screams at the top of her lungs: "SEE YOU LATER SHANTI AND KATE! PLEASE COME AND SEE ME SOON!!"
Shanti pokes his head back into the room. "Of course my little princess." She beams.
He starts walking again back to my room. I sit on the gurnee/bed looking around the bland room other than the painting on the wall of flowers, nothing looks happy...
What if I just imagine that none of this happened... I wonder what would have happened.
All I know is that I probably wouldn't be in this room right now.
Shanti says something but everything is incoherent. "What? I zoned out... sorry." He smirks and says it again.
Still nothing. He looks at me strangely. "I can't hear you." He moves quickly to a remote that's on the side of the bed.
Once he presses it, everything starts getting cloudy and dark. "Shanti? Are you here? Asher! Where is everyone!? Someone please help me!" I start feeling stuck and lonely. It's like looking at death in the face.
A pair of hands were suddenly holding mine, soothing and rubbing in circular motions.
I started calming down but nothing was changing. I was still seeing only clouds and hearing absolute nothing.
I feel so sick. Why do I feel the one bit...
I feel so out of it. I'm so tired... I'm just going to go to sleep for a bit. Someone keeps shaking me... I just want to go to sleep. I'm soo tired.
"Kate stay awake please, I don't want to loose you." Asher's voice pierces through the silence. I try blinking but... eye sight still has pretty gray and white clouds.
"But I'm to tired. Can I just go to sleep for a couple of minutes? Or an hour?" I yawn and start laying back on my bed.
"Kate I can't let you, because if you do... You might never wake up again." I gasp. The hands are on my face and slowly the fingers start rubbing my cheeks.
"Okay, I'll stay awake... But once I'm good can I sleep?" I quietly mumble. "Of course Kate." Sparks start flying through out my body.
Lips suddenly meet mine. I can't see who but I know it's the handsome boy with the beautiful brown eyes, the boy who met me with a smile.
"You can sleep now." Asher's voice is full of emotion. I try and find his face. He moves my hands. I touch his soft lower lip.
I gently kiss him. He leans in and kisses me back. I can feel him slightly smiling against my lips.
