Chapter 3 Another Girl

The conference was the same as any other. Long and boring, The only difference were those almond brown eyes. Our gaze was locked upon eachother throughout most of the conference, mine only leaving when a question was being asked to me. She looked about the same as she did in Hamburg, though her hair was now a chesnut brown, before being more of a dirty blond. Her skin was still a delicate ivory color, her lips a deep red.

"Uh, Paul?" I was stunned when the girl with almond brown eyes raised her hand and spoke my name.

"Yes?" A smile creeped onto my face.

"Are you planned to marry Jane Asher soon?" Jane Asher was my current girlfriend. We had been only dating for about a year and the press was already bugging me about marriage.

The question annoyed me but I didn't let that show. "I don't see it in my future at the moment."

This made her smile and sit down, scribbling something onto her notepad. "Dear," I called to her. She swiftly looked up at me. "What's your name?"

"Amelia," she responded with a warm smile. 'Amelia' I repeated her name in my head with a smile.

When the conference ended, the four of us headed out of the room, leaving behind clapping and the sound of cameras flashing.

"Finally," Ringo spoke all of our minds. We headed down the long corridor when I felt a light touch on my arm. I quickly turned around to find Amelia standing behind me.

"Hullo," I grinned down at her. The others looked over and saw the girl.

"We'll meet you in the car, Paulie," John said with a wink.

"Bu-" Ringo started to say.

"It's fine. I think Paul needs a couple minutes... to chat." The three slowly made their way to the enterance, leaving me and Amelia alone.

"Come with me," she said urgently, taking my hand and leading me into a vacant room off to the left of us. The room was small with white, empty walls and nothing but a small couch and some boxes laying about. Amelia closed the door shut firmly behind us and walked toward me.

"I-" before I could say anymore she pushed herself upon me and our lips met. The familiar taste of honey rushed into my mouth. I pulled her closer to me as she fumbled with my tie. I helped her but pulling it over my head and started unbuttoning my shirt.

"Still as feisty as I remember," I laughed when I got a quick break from her kisses. I let my hands explore her body as she lead me to the couch.

***

Our naked bodies lay intertwined on the old couch. A bit of sweat had formed on her brow as Amelia rested her head on my chest.

"I never did find you again.. In Hamburg," I said, stroking her hair.

"You came looking for me?" She laughed a little and nuzzled my chest.

"I needed to see you again," I kissed the top of her head. We sat in silence for a while.

"You said you loved me," I spoke up.

"What?" Amelia looked up at me.

"That night we met. You said you loved me,"

"Oh," she laughed. "I was probably drunk or something."

***

The lads greeted me warmly as I walked into the hotel room.

"What took ya so long?" Ringo asked with a sly smile.

"Oh business," I said. We all burst into laughter, the three cheering and giving me high-fives.

Our noisy celebration was inturupted by the loud ring of the phone. George jumped over the couch and quickly grabbed it, putting it to his ear.

"Hullo?" He said into the phone. George listened for a while nodding and muttering. "Alrighty," he finally said and handed the phone to me. "It's for you, Paulie."

I took the phone with a puzzled look. "Hullo?"

"Hey, Paul." It was Jane. "They told me I could reach you from this number." I didn't respond, only stupidly nodding. She continued, "I miss you."

"I miss you too, love," I said sweetly. The others watched me, worriely. "It's my birthday today," she said sadly.

"Oh dear. I'm sorry, Jane, it slipped my mind."

"I want to come up there. It'll be like my little birthday gift, to see you again." This made me nervous. I promised Amelia I would see her again in the next couple days. My face must have plainly showed how scared I was because the others frantically mouthed,'what what?'

"Ok I'd love that. I gotta go now. Happy birthday... ok... ok... ok love you... bye" I put the phone down and flopped onto the couch. "I'm screwed. Jane's coming to London and I'm meeting with Amelia soon." They all groaned in sympathy.

"Sorry 'bout that, lad," John said as he sat down next to me.

What am I going to do when Jane finds out there's another girl?
