~ Jaylinn ~
When I woke up I was laying in the bed and not the bathtub. I heard water running so I slowly walked to the bathroom, I opened up the door and there was Wyatt giving Cain and Sonya a bath. They didn't notice me so I crawled back in bed to sleep a few more minutes.
I woke up to Cain crawling into bed and lying beside me "Jay get up please, Wyatt and Sonya want to go down to talk to Daryl but I don't want to go without you."
I looked at him, and kissed him on the forehead "Okay I'll get up."
Once I got up we all headed down to see Daryl. I didn't like the fact that we were in a hotel, although I did see a pool that I hope is usable. I was carrying Cain while Wyatt was carrying Sonya; Cain kept whispering to me that he didn't like being here and I had to agree with him. We met Daryl near the pool and he brought a coffee and food.
"If you want you and the kids could go swimming we have a pile full of swim suits that you could choose from" Daryl said to me. Ginger was already in the pool, so the kids and I went to the pile and picked out a few that would fit and looked nice.
After we had our swim suits on we went to the pool, I put floaties on the kids since they couldn't swim yet. The water was warmer than what I thought it would be which is great. When Wyatt was talking to Daryl, he kept looking down at me and the kids to make sure we are alright. The kids were giggling and having fun splashing each other, so I got out of the pool to see what Wyatt and Daryl were talking about.
"Jaylinn, Ginger, please come here" Daryl said to us. So we got out and let the kids stay in there because of their floaties.
Daryl said to us as, Wyatt hung his head down like he was in trouble, "We have something to tell you about our pasts. We were about 16, I think. I start running through the woods looking for my best friend Wyatt. He took off because his dad hit him again but it was worse this time, his dad threatened to kill him. I start screaming his name louder and louder. I could hear foot steps ahead of me, I looked up and froze. His father was looking straight at me while holding Wyatt up by the throat. 'Let Wyatt go' I screamed in a panicky voice. 'Why should I' Wyatt's Father asked me as he squeezed tighter around his neck. Wyatt is scratching at his father's arm trying to get him to let go, his face is getting redder and redder. I looked at his father, cleared my emotions, and said in a clear voice 'Let him go.' Wyatt dropped to the floor and I ran over to him. He was still trying to get his breath back when his father pulled the trigger of his gun. Bang. Bang. Our ears rang with a high pitched screeching noise. Adrenaline started to kick in when I saw Wyatt's father aim the gun at his head. I took his father down, trying to get the gun from him. Soon after us fighting he pushed me and I fell off the cliff; I got caught on a rock. Once I realized that I stopped falling I climbed back up and saw his father standing over him with the gun to his head. I took off in a dead run, and took his father down. I noticed a sharp pain in my side; I had a knife sticking out of me. Bang. I was expecting to have pain shot through my body but nothing happened. I looked down and saw that Wyatt's father was dead; blood was running from the middle of his head. I turned around and looked at Wyatt, who had tears running down his cheeks. 'Are you okay' Wyatt asked in a weak voice as he stood up. 'Your dad stabbed me in the side' I said 'I'm sorry I really am' 'I couldn't lose my best friend; I mean I treat you like you're my little brother.' We helped each other to the main road. And that is our past together." I looked at Wyatt and then Daryl as Ginger looked at Daryl and then Wyatt.
I walked over to Wyatt and hugged him not knowing what else to do. Daryl looked at us and said, "Dinner is now and after that at 7 is free time. We will give you a schedule then, right now let's go eat." We got the children and fallowed Daryl and Ginger to the dining hall to eat. After dinner we got our schedule and talked to Daryl and his girlfriend until the classes started which Sonya, Cain, Wyatt, and I joined in on. Once the classes were done it was about 11, we had another free time but all of us were extremely sleepy. All of us went back tour room and gave the kids a bath and jumped into bed for a peaceful night sleep.

We drive to Eli's parents' house and tell them about what happened. "So what do we do now?" asked Adalynn.
"I think we should try to get a hold of the government." I say just as a knock on the door sends Adalynn jumping into Paul's arms.
Eli walks over to the door and opens it slightly just enough to see who it is. "What do you want?" Eli says just a tad bit snotty like.
"Hello, I'm with the FBI. My name is Detective David Sunflower. I want to ask you a few questions, may I come in."
"Sure have a seat on the couch." Eli says as he opens the door the rest of the way to let the detective in.
When Detective Sunflower sat down he took out a pen and note pad and began asking us all questions. "How many people live in this household?"
"Just us, all of us and no one else."
"I asked how many people live in this household?" he repeated in a monotone voice.
"Four. Me, my girlfriend, and my parents."
"Are any of you folks from the U.S.?"
"Yes, my girlfriend. Why do you ask?"
He turns and looks at me and asked, "Have you been here since the zombie outbreak in the U.S.?"
"Have you been bitten?" I say in a totally unrelated tone.
"Excuse me?" he asked in a higher pitched voice.
"I asked if you have been bitten recently. Maybe, oh I don't know, in the last eight to twelve hours?"
"That's no concern of yours." He says as the sweat drips from his face.
Then all of a sudden the pen and notepad fall from his grasp. I glance over at Eli and he knows what I need him to do. He jumps up and takes Detective David down. They go down on the floor in a tangle of limbs and intriguing chose of words. That's when I hear the shot and see Eli roll off of the detective and onto the carpet holding his left shoulder. I run over to help Eli but that's when detective David holds the gun unsteadily to my head. I hear Eli mutter a word towards the detective that sounds like please. When I'm about to try and grab the gun, he suddenly drops the gun and slumps down on the floor. That's when I turn around and see Paul holding a shotgun. He must have snuck out of the room into their bedroom and grabbed the gun. I stand up and try to help Eli to the couch. Adalynn goes to the bathroom to get some towels, a bandage, and some water and brought them back to me. I am no healer so I watch patiently as Adalynn tried to get the wound cleaned and sewn shut. He damped a washcloth with cold water and laid it on Eli forehead. I lay with him and we both doze off.
When we finally wake up, we smell pork chops, mashed potatoes, and gravy. I help Eli up off the couch and we go to sit at the dining room table. We eat and Adalynn goes out to the kitchen to get the ice cream and coffee for dessert. We make small talk but then after dessert the subject comes up on what to do with the dead half zombie in the back yard.
"I say we burn him. It's the only way to make sure he doesn't..., come back..." I say.
"I agree." Eli says.
After we do the dishes and clean up. We get protective clothing on and go out in the back yard to build a fire. After the fire is started we burn the outside layer of clothing just for good measure.
When the fire finally dies down we head back inside. It is getting late so me and Eli go and get washed up and head to our room. We lay carefully (because of Eli's shoulder) cradling each other until we fall into a restless sleep. I wake up at about 4:30 in the morning. I get up and decide to take a shower. When I get out I go back in the bedroom and lay back down. Eli rolls over and raps his arms around me. I fall back to sleep will I wake to a scream from Adalynn.
