The two of them walked along the sidewalk in silence, fingers entwined. "Are you going to stay in and study with me later?" Angelo's soft, sweet voice finally broke the silence.

Chris swiped his thumb over the shorter boy's hand, chuckling. "Studying is so lame though," He whined. "You should just come with us. It'll be fun," He insisted, nudging his boyfriend.

Ever the perfect student, Angelo didn't want to spend the night before a test getting wasted. He had already decided upon staying in the dorm he shared with Chris and making sure he knew everything necessary.

He did like to consider himself a good student, after all, and flunking a midterm was the last thing he needed. Besides, he didn't want to be a drag. Surely Chris would have more fun on his own.

Angelo tucked some hair behind his ear, saying, "I'd rather not.. I'm sorry, babe," He said. "Parties aren't my scene. And besides, I don't want to fail.." He added before pausing. "So.. you aren't gonna stay, huh?"

Chris's silence told Angelo that his boyfriend would not, in fact, be staying in to study with him. But still, even knowing that Chris would have declined the offer, Angelo frowned. "Oh," He nodded. "Okay."

The taller of the two leaned down, kissing Angelo on the top of his head. "Next time. I promise," He said. "Besides, I'll end up distracting you, and I don't want you to fail because of me." He said. Angelo just accepted the excuse and squeezed Chris's hand.

"Okay." Angelo said with a nod.

From the moment the two had gotten back to their dorm, Angelo had begun his study session, whilst his boyfriend, on the other hand, had started on his makeup and getting ready for the party that evening.

Angelo stole occasional glances at Chris, but aside from that, his studying was going rather well. At least, he had decided it was. He didn't want Chris to leave, though. He didn't really like to be alone all by himself.

Still, he wasn't going to stop his beloved from going out and having a good time. So, he said nothing. When it came time for Chris to head out, Angelo kissed him softly.

"Are you sure you don't want o come with, babe..?" Chris asked gently. Angelo nuzzled him, kissing his jaw. "I'm sure. Are you sure you do want to go? I don't want you to fail.." He replied.

Chris offered one of those sweet smiles. "I'll be okay.. Maybe you can help me study for awhile before class tomorrow morning?" He suggested. "If.. If you wanna, I mean." He added hastily.

The blue eyed beauty had to laugh at that, nodding his head. "Sure. Wake me up early and I'll help. Sound like a plan?" He asked, and his lover nodded.

Sharing one more kiss, Chris headed out and left his darling to study peacefully.

———

It was at around 2:00a.m. when Chris finally staggered and stumbled back into the solitude of the dormitory he shared with Ange. He got into his own bed carefully and quietly, opting to keep the light off so not to wake Angelo, and shut his eyes.

Chris woke up early the following morning,- as promised,- to request Angelo's help in studying. He rubbed his eyes and groggily swung his legs over the edge of the bed and stood up, shuffling to Angelo's bed and shaking his shoulder gently. "Ange," He whined.

Angelo must have been exhausted, Chris had decided. He was sleeping like a rock. "Ange, please get up,-" Chris yawned. He pulled the blanket back.

His boyfriend was laying face down, and Chris sighed. "Ange," He whined dramatically, gently tugging Angelo's sleeve and pulling the smaller boy over to lay on his back.

What he saw made the older frown. Angelo looked like he was awake, but he had a fearful expression plastered on his face. Cautiously, Chris reached over and turned the bedside lamp on.

Chris felt his stomach drop, and he jumped back. Blood was splattered across Angelo's papers and books, and as for Angelo himself, the sight was enough to make Chris's stomach turn. He covered his mouth, tears welling up in his eyes.

He had to be dreaming. He had to be; Angelo couldn't be dead..

Chris staggered back and sank to his knees, eyes wide as saucers. As much as he wanted to, he couldn't turn away from the grisly scene before him. He stared at the wall, which bore a message in his beloved's crimson blood;

"Aren't you glad you didn't turn on the light?"
