SPOILER ALERT!!! Do not read if you have not seen Sherlock Season 4 Episode 3!

TRIGGER WARNINGS: being trapped in a place with rapidly rising water, the bones of a brutally murdered Redbeard.

This one is sure to be gut-wrenching. Sorry! (But the episode itself was gut-wrenching.)

The water was already up to John's head when Sherlock lowered himself into the well. Eurus tossed the keys down to Sherlock, but he failed to catch them, so he had to dive down and look for them. By then, John's mouth and nose were below the water line. Sherlock struggled not to panic as he went under again to try to undo the lock on John's chains, especially after his hands found the bones of the last friend who was chained up in the well (the one he failed to save and whose death left him so traumatized). He was terrified that the same thing would happen this time, and that he would lose John the same way he lost Redbeard. By the time he succeeded in freeing John from the chains, John had lost consciousness.
Sherlock dragged John out of the well and stared to do CPR on him. As he did the chest compressions, he kept repeating that he loved John and kept begging him to come back. He told Eurus that, if John died, then she could forget about the promise that he made to her in her room. Eurus, not wanting to go back to being so alone, started to help Sherlock with the CPR. Finally, John regained consciousness. Sherlock immediately pulled John into a huge hug and told him not to scare him like that again. He then turned to Eurus, who was looking quite upset, and told her not to worry. He would not ignore her this time, like he did when they were children. He would visit her at Sherrinford as often as possible.

I know that this was a deeply upsetting one. But the episode mentioned three Garrideb brothers and, I thought, was kind of lacking the part of The Three Garridebs that we all know so well (John's life being threatened and Sherlock panicking). This way, that moment is back in, at least sort of.
