Escape the Fate
Luka glanced down towards the dark street in front of him, watching from the heights of the rooftop, the demons that mindlessly followed their instincts to their next victim.
He had been up there for a half an hour now, waiting patiently for his dear flower to appear. It had been a routine he had gotten use to by now; an endless circle of late nights and sneaking out into the dark world. But it was all worth it, as long as he could protect her.
-good evening miss Rose-he heard Leo say as he gazed down towards the front courtyard, just as his flower appeared through the front door.
-good evening Leo-she replied, dressed in her usual black hunting suit and her black boots.
-right on time-Luka whispered to no one in particular as he jumped to the roof of the station-you never disappoint flower-
He watched as the usual conversation between the two unraveled before him, smirking at the part when she called him so carelessly her guardian; oh, how he loved it when she permitted herself to trust him and boy, did she know it.
As the two entered the station, Lucian slipped down from the rooftops and followed them silently as the three made their way to the train tracks, making sure that he stayed in the shadows. He smiled again at the mention of him getting in to trouble, and he almost laughed at his flowers response as she boarded the vessel.
-she's so stubborn!-Leo puffed as Luka entered the platform
-don't we both know it-he replied as he made his way towards the carriage that was behind the one Rose was in, and sat himself down on the comfortable leather seats.
-you better look after her Lucian-said Leo in a aggressive tone as he stared at him with an icy glare
-of course i will-he answered as he looked at the hologram with a bored exprestion-am I not the one to bring her home safe and sound every night?-
At this statement Leo hesitated and suddenly looked quite embarrassed
-yes, you are-he sighed as he looked down at his hands-but its just...-
-you worry-Luka cut him off-I know Leo, just calm down and she will be here safe and sound tomorrow-
-and you better be back too, she's not the only one I worry about-he said as the train doors shut and set its self motion towards the confines of the night.
That last statement left Lucian completely astonished, for this was the first time Leo had demonstrated an affection of caring towards him.
"Maybe I'm finally growing on them" he thought with a smile, but something in his mind flinched at the thought.

Rose twisted and twirled as she slit another demons throat as if it were a thin sheet of ice. She had been fighting for a half an hour by now and had already destroyed about a dozen demons that had been causing trouble in sector 6.
She was told that this little gang of malicious creatures had been trafficking soul suckers; precious rare plants that, as the name suggested, sucked a little piece of your soul to illuminate the night. But if you collected enough of these weird flowers, you could wipe out a whole city in one go.
