"God dammit, Cas," Dean muttered, dashing outside with a coat for the former angel, too panicked to waste time and get his own. Castiel was outside, resting on the Impala's side. Even from inside Bobby's house, he could see the snow melting onto the man's trench coat and him shivering.

What if he gets hypothermia and dies?

What if he gets frostbite?

Dean was filling himself up with worry, thinking up all these horrible scenerios when in reality the worst thing that could really happen was Cas getting a cold.

Dean reluctantly stepped outside into the freezing cold and dashed over to Cas, sitting him up and covering him with a coat he borrowed from Sam. "Cas, you're going to freeze to death," the hunter scolded him, trying to stand him up. "Come on. Let's go inside, get a grilled burger and a beer. How's that sound?"

But Castiel insisted staying on the ground. "I'm not going inside," he shivered, shrugging the coat off. "It's too beautiful out here to be cooped up indoors. You go."

"It's Christmas, Cas." Dean protested, wrapping his arms around himself, trying to protect him from the blistering cold.

"And it's snowing, Dean. Anything else you'd like to point out to me while you're out here?"

"But, Cas."

"You can stay here if you want, but I'm not going in."

He frowned, trying to hide his delight at the fact that Castiel had allowed to stay if he pleased, and seated himself down next to Cas- keeping his distance, as though not to burden him- trying to ignore the snow that was seeping through his pants and the chill that was spreading through his body.

"Here." Castiel grinned at the fact Dean stayed and wiped the snow off the ground seperating the two of them. "You look too cold. We can share the coat."

Dean smiled in thanks and scooted next to Cas so that their sides were touching. The blue eyed man wrapped the coat around the two of them, and the two of them just stayed that, staring at the blank sky and the snowflakes making their way down to them.

Dean thought for a few moments about what he was going to do before boldly leaning his head on Cas' shoulder, tentatively entertwining their hands.

This is perfect, Castiel thought, smiling at the warm feeling in his stomach Dean made him feel. He squeezed Dean's hand and laid his head on the brunette's, adding to the moment. They just layed there for a while, feeling the warmth of each other.

"Merry Christmas, Cas," Dean beamed.

In that split second, everything was perfect. Until...
