We were seated but the front window which I didn't mind at all. Even though there was snow, it was still bright and sunny out. I love the sun which is the reason why I didn't mind sitting here.
Our table waiter came over to our table 5 minutes after we were seated. We placed orders without complications. The waiter's name was Jessica, same as my old neighbor who was shot in front of me. Jessica said the food would be ready in 20 minutes. More time for me to talk to Jake.
He had a Nevis look on his face when Jessica walked away. He was playing with his hands in avoiding looking at me. That was one of his natural nervous habits. We won ask questions about it much but I could tell that something was bothering him or on his mind.
I was too focused on Jake's expression and holding back asking, that I forgot to breeze. Releasing oxygen for my lungs this time, felt like rocks been lifted off my chest. By accident and it came out more as a side but I didn't mean to.
"Is everything okay Ella?" I was hoping he wouldn't have heard me but I guess it was loud. What would I tell him without bringing up that he was nervous? Avoiding that was not going to be easy.
"Yeah, I'm fine, I just forgot to breeze. It happens more often than not." Trying to be funny was clearly not working. "How about you, it seems like there's something bothering you?" One more question out of the way. Phew!
"Well yes but 'bothering' isn't quite the word I was looking for." Jake angled his head so that his chin was touching your shoulder. Said he looks forward and half monitor placed the position. For Jake were done with his sentence replace both arms on the table with both hands out for me to hold. So I did.
"Like I was explaining earlier, The day we met was beyond amazing. I'm overly grateful to have you as my best friend and now my girlfriend. I tried my hardest to give you everything you wanted and to be there whenever you needed me," he paused. Releasing my hand, Jake got out of his seat and down on one knee.
A black case was pulled out of his pocket. He opened the case and a diamond ring flashed in the light. "Ella Rose, would you do me the honor and make me the happiest man on Earth by marrying me?" This was real, he was serious!
I knew what I wanted and I knew it was right. "Jakob Robins, yes!" Tears were rolling down my face again but this time I didn't care about my makeup.
I can't tell you exactly what happened because I don't remember at all. The only part I remember was pulling him and kissing him. That was out very first kiss. I was so nervous I thought I would've missed.
