How to Love

Chapter 8

Ebony's P.O.V.

I stare at the ceiling unable to sleep. I can't help thinking I made the wrong decision. It's at this moment I truly feel as if I'm holding on to the past too much. I've accepted that I'm not going home, and if I do who knows how much time has passed, or not passed, since I left. I mean for all I know My friends could be dead or it's could only have been a few hours. Let go I sit up quickly hearing a whispering voice. Let go and become who you are meant to be. I close my eyes and shake my head.

"This isn't right," I whisper to myself. The words keep echoing in my head.  "Let go." I close my eyes tighter trying to close the voice out, but it's still there echoing. I run to the bathroom and turn the shower on in hope that it would drown out the voice. After sitting there for twenty minuets the voice has faded away. I need to talk to Kylo...

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT'S NORMAL?!?" I just spoke with Kylo about what happened this morning and it only said it's normal and tried to walk away. He turned back around to face me. "That's what I said so that's what it is," I hear the anger in his voice, through his helmet. "That's not an acceptable answer at this point Kylo."

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN AT THIS POINT?!? IT'S THE TRUTH EBONY!" I feel him look at me. After a long silence I turn and walk away from him, going back to my room. I ball my hands into fists and find something to focus my anger on, my chair. In the blink of an eye it's a ball of metal on the floor. The door flies open and Ren walks in. "Get changed, you have your first mission. Be at the bridge in ten minuets."

I hurry and do as he says then hustle to the bridge.When I enter the bridge General Hux glares at me then at Ren, "THIS is who you got for the mission. There are stormtroopers better suited for this than she is, Ren." Ouch. Frustration bubbles inside me, I don't know what the mission is, but I'm going to be successful just to annoy him.

"General, Snoke wishes she goes on this mission. It was his decision, not mine. She's more than capable of completing." With that Kylo walks off the bridge signalling for me to follow. In a matter of minuets we reach the ship I'll be taking. Kylo hands me a communication device, a hologram disc, relaying what my mission will be, and night vision goggles that resemble Cyclops' sun glasses in the X-Men movies. I walk onto the ship and see the captain already in his seat waiting for his signal.

When he receives it I feel the ship lift and take off into light-speed. I put the communication device in my ear and have my mission relayed to me through it. I have to jump from my ship, land on the roof of a building, and do A LOT of spying. Then, if the big guys, Ren and Hux, deem it necessary I might have to kill people! I sigh quietly not ready for what lies ahead.

Soon the pilot tells me we're almost to our destination. I pull my hood over my head and get ready to jump, the back door soon opens. Wind and rain immediately hit my face. I'm higher than I thought, but I hold my breath and jump. As soon as I jump I realize I have gone totally crazy. I don't have too much time to think about it before rolling across the roof as quietly as I could. "Let's hope they think I was just a really big rain drop," I mumble to myself.

"Who'd think you are a rain drop," Kylo's voice juts in. I roll my eyes and walk to find the vent I need, there are a few but they're all labled in some alien language I can't read. I was shown what it looked like, that's when it hit me, well I fell into it actually. Found it. "Stop all that clanging around," Kylo's found said firmly in my ear. "This isn't some training exercise you can just redo." Ha almost sounds lke it matters if I live through this or not. Almost like he care Ha.

I crawl through the vent looking for the room I need. After when feels like an eternity of crawling I eventually find the room. I feel in emptynees in and around the room so I slowly wiggle the metal peice out of place. So I need to find three sparkly 'chips'. Man, I could really go for some potato chips right now. "Focus." Kylo. Well he does have a point. I go to the big wall and thousands of chips.

Well what now? I think before turning to the desk behind me. I see a locked drawer. I don't have a bobby pin or a lock pick. I think and a smirk grows on my face as I come to a conclusion. I close my eyes and focus on the force and the force in the lock, and in a minuet it unlock and opens, brings a light purple glow with it. I grab them and put them in a pocket on my belt and hope that's what Kylo wanted. I feel a small group of peoples' presences growing closer. I quickly get back in my vent and put it back in it's place.

I'd love to stay and watch, but something tells me i need to skee-daddle. As I crawl I hear someone say, "Rey these are extremely important, you need to make sure they get back safely." I crawls a little fast and contact the pilot. He's hovering as I get to the roof I barely get on board when some girl appears on the roof, I give a Smart Alec wave, wiggling my fingers and she draws a lightsaber as the door closes.

This is going to be a fun talk later, I think with an eye roll.

"Yes it is." Kylo...again.

"Well done, you didn't get killed

"Well I just have THE BEST teacher," I respond sarcastically, "But i have a question... there was a girl there, as I was leaving, she had a blue lightsaber.... who was she." Theres silence for a moment. I look at Kylo waiting for an answer. I turn to leave after not getting any response.
