A little message in light of Opia ending: Thank you so much for reading it, really. I can't thank you enough for loving this story as much as you all do. Occasionally there will be comments that doubt my writing, as I doubt it myself sometimes, but to most of you: thank you. It's not perfect, and it most likely will never be, but I'm proud of what Opia became. Here are a few answers to questions you all might have.
Why didn't I continue writing more chapters?
The reason I've ended it here is because I have run out of ideas. Plain and simple. I'm not sure what I would have done with it if I continued. I enjoy leaving things on a cliffhanger and leaving everyone guessing, and in a way I want you all to put your own ending to it. I think it sparks creativity in others to leave things so open ended and not tie up the loose ends. You can have all the guesses in the world as to what the ending meant, but even I don't have an answer.
A sequel?
I'm glad you all want a sequel, so if you're looking for an answer as to whether that will happen I'm going to clarify right now that I don't have time. I've already dedicated myself to writing a new story called 'where are you now?' as well as a sequel to 'monday pine' called 'forget tuesday'. I'm literally moving overseas in a few months, and working nearly every day leading up to the big move, so unless I can fit some time in between all of that, a sequel seems very unlikely. (Not to mention I will be working full time starting May). I don't think I have the motivation to pursue 3 stories at once, as much as I would love to.
Aaaaaand....
Since I'm already plugging it, I really hope you will all enjoy 'where are you now?'. The monday pine sequel might be on hold for a little while, simply because I am very excited for this new story. I'll give you a little more of a sneak peek as I'm planning out all of the chapters right now. Rose is a 26 year old girl whose world revolved around Matty until she was 21. Six years after her disappearance she shows up on his doorstep again, asking for a place to stay, and Matty jumps at the opportunity to have her back in his life - not thinking about the consequences whatsoever. Matty runs an art gallery/studio and Rose is a lawyer but wants nothing to do with the career anymore.
I'm hoping for the first chapter to be up in a few hours. Love you all, thank you.
