gilinsky;

after isabelle and i's confession to each other, it wasn't awkward whatsoever. which is odd, right? i thought it was going to be so awkward.

"you want something to eat?" she asks me.

"no, do you?" i answer.

"nope, i just wanted to be a good.. host?" she shrugs and laughs.

both isabelle and i were sitting on her couch. i knew she was still very upset about her mom, and even more so because the funeral is tomorrow.

although the tv was on, the volume was loud enough to somewhat block out certain sounds, i knew that something about isabelle is off.

after a few more minutes of watching the show, i turned my head to look at her. but it definitely wasn't what i was expecting to witness.

her eyes were red and puffy, and filled with tears.

"c'mere." i demand.

she gets up slowly. i grab her by her waist and guide her to be on my lap.

"i miss her so much, jack." she cries into my chest.

"i know you do." i say and stroke her back. i draw circles on her back for a few more minutes, until she begins to move on my lap, "isabelle." i warn.

"what?" she asks and sits up, repositioning herself again. she looks in my eyes and it's like a lightbulb went off, "oh! i'm sorry." she laughs.

we both just stare at each other. my eyes examining her face, and her eyes examining mine.

suddenly, we're both leaning in. her hands arms are resting on my shoulders, and my hands still on her waist.

our lips have are virgins towards each other, so they're definitley trying to adapt.

she pulls back slowly, "jack..."

"what?" i ask, confused by the stun in her voice.

"nate... you're.."

"who cares about nate?" i shrug.

"but he's your best friend." she whispers.

i laugh a little, "and you're his ex. what's your point?"

"it's gonna be awkward, isn't it?" she asks.

"no, isabelle. he knows my feelings towards you. and he jokes with me about it constantly. he's wanted us to date." i defend.

she bites her lip and nods, pecking my lips once again. teasing me completely.

i give her the, 'oh come on,' look and she giggles.

"are you better now?" i ask and she nods.

"all because of you. thanks, gilinsk." she smiles at her nickname from years ago.

"gilinsk is back?" i laugh and she nods, while laughing.

"i've always loved that nickname. gilinsk, gilinsk, gilinsk." she sings while moving around.

"isabelle." i warn again and hold her to keep her still.

she laughs once again, "sorry jack." she pretends to pout, "don't want to tease you again." she giggles again.
