~~Flashback~~

You suddenly felt your heartbeat in your neck and growled. You assumed it was your mom. "Always has to scare me with those sudden knocks," you mumbled to yourself as you headed to the door. You took a peek through the peep-hole, and you saw the one and only Stanford Pines. You sunk away from the door, breathing heavily. 'Did I just hallucinate him?' you thought before creeping back up to the door to look again. Yep. Still there. His eyebrows were lowered and he fiddled around with his hands nervously. He then started to knock again. A part of you wanted to open the door and land in his arms, and another part of you wanted to open the door and greet him with a slap across the face before proceeding to tare him a new one. Either way, you were still going to open the door. With slight hesitation and knotting stomach, you opened the door slowly. Stanford's eyes widened as they met your own (e/c) eyes. "How did you-"

Stanford's lips smashed onto yours suddenly, cutting you off. You attempted to push him off angrily, but couldn't bring yourself to do it so instead you sunk into the kiss. It seemed as if it went on forever until he pulled away. "(Y/n), I'm so sorry... I should have never said that nor should I have ever sent you home. It was the biggest mistake I've ever made," he spoke quickly, caressing your cheek with one hand. His smile turned into a faint frown, as if he was beating himself up for what he had done. "I love you, (y/n). I won't let Bill come between us." he whispered.

You just couldn't stay mad at the man. Your heart fluttered as he said those next words, and you planted another kiss on his lips. "I love you, too, Fordsie. He won't ever." He smiled, and you both stood there, looking at each other with loving eyes for just a moment. "I just have to ask a question... how did you find me?" You squinted at him.

"It took me awhile to get ahold of your mother. She told me your address." He grinned before picking you up in a bridal style and walked out of the door. You chuckled quietly. "Now, are you ready to study the abnormalities of Gravity Falls once again with me?"

"Of course, Stanford Pines. I love you." He laughed, and kissed your forehead lightly.

~~Flashback Over~~

You were sitting in the kitchen waiting on Ford to come back up for dinner. You had spent an hour preparing dinner. You sat there at the small kitchen table watching the door to the lab. Suddenly it opened. You smiled as Ford walked out of the basement with the same solemn expression he always had on his face.

"[Y/n]! You made dinner!" he said and smiled. It was unusual for him to smile anymore and you were starting to think his face might have forgotten how.

You smiled back. "I hope you like it." You began to eat. You were surprised at how good it had ended up being since it was just a bunch of random things from the cupboard and fridge thrown together. You would have to go to town tomorrow and get groceries. Suddenly there was a sharp pain in your head. It was so bad that you dropped your fork and grabbed you head with both hands.

Ford put has hands on your shoulders, holding you up out of your food, as you bent over the table in pain, your head almost lying on it. "[Y/n]! What's wrong?"

The pain subsided but it left you slightly breathless. You sat up and took Ford's hands off your shoulders. "It's alright Ford. It was just a migraine."

Ford seemed a bit skeptical about that. "You should see a doctor about that. Migraines can be symptoms of much more serious things."

"But they can also be just pains from not sleeping enough." You laid your hand on his cheek. "So calm down..."

He set his own hand on top of yours, holding it in place. "[Y/n]."

"But if it will make you happy I'll go to a doctor." You smiled at him and turned back to your food to continue eating.

This had been happening a lot lately and was getting worse. You would get migraines or start feeling sick at sudden times. Usually Ford wasn't around when it happened so you never told him. You didn't want him to worry about you any more than he already did because he already worried too much. You kept telling yourself that you needed to go to the doctor but there was no doctor in Gravity Falls which made it hard to go to the doctor on a regular basis. You decided that you would go to the doctors in Medford. This meant leaving Ford home alone at least overnight but they were the closest town with a CAT scanner and you were sure it would come to them wanting to take a look at your brain.

You sighed and set your fork down. You had hardly eaten half of your food but you weren't hungry any more. You pushed yourself back from the table and picked up your plate. You scrapped it into a large plastic container and put it in the fridge. Ford would need it. You sighed as a slow, throbbing pain eased its way into your head.

Ford followed your example with the little bit of food he had left but looked even more worried than before. He took your hand and led the way to your room. He made you lay down to go to bed. He covered you with a soft warm blanket and kissed your forehead.

You didn't smile as much as you normally did but the corners of your mouth still turned up. You watched as he set a small blue box with a bit of paper taped to it on your nightstand just before you drifted off to sleep.
