"Why'd you call Scooter?"
Justin's shaky voice came from Taylor's bedroom. She had left him laying almost unconscious on her bed while she was talking to his manager on the phone, but he still heard everything.
"You know, eavesdropping is not nice."
She said, now walking towards him. His face was red and sweaty, and she had already noticed how hot his skin was. The alcohol in his blood made his whole body burn, that's why Taylor had put a bag of ice on his forehead, hoping for his body temperature to go down.
"He's gonna kill me isn't he?"
Taylor smiled silently, and sat on her own bed where Justin laid.
"Yes, he definitely will."
Justin closed his eyes. Not only his body was on fire, also his brain was. What was he thinking while making his way to Taylor's house, he had no clue. He only remembered the bitter taste of alcohol in his mouth and the beat of his aching heart.
Taylor looked at him sadly. He was so.. broken. The fact that he was still completely drunk made it all look even more obvious. And what hurt the most, was knowing that she was the only reason for him being broken.
"You okay?"
She whispered, seeing that he hadn't opened his eyes yet. Justin shook his head.
"Why are you here, Jay?"
But he didn't answer. He knew he didn't need to. He only looked at her. Her shape was blurred, he was too drunk to see her perfectly, but he still managed to find her hand and hold it in his. Her skin was so soft under his touch, so delicate.. He wanted to touch her all night, to have every inch of her body in the palm of his hand, to kiss every single part of her beautiful skin and make her tremble under his touch. But mostly, he wanted her to want the same.
"I'm gonna.. I'm gonna ask you a question, Taylor."
He said, his voice still shaking.
"If it wasn't for.. Maybe.. If you weren't taken.. Would you.. If we.."
"Yes."
She said. She knew exactly how she felt now, and she also knew he deserved to know as well.
"If it wasn't for Tom, I think I'd be with you by now."
Justin's whole body melted on her bed at those words. It hurt. Knowing that she felt the same hurt. He was happy, of course he was, but he also felt so numb at those words. Maybe it was still the alcohol in him, but he still felt bad.
Justin put the ice bag away. Heavily, he got up, so he was sitting next to her. Their fingers where still intertwined, which made both of them feel warmer inside.
Justin's head rested on her shoulder. His head hurt really bad, and so did his heart.
"W-Why is it so hard, babe?"
She shivered at that pet name, while her other hand found its was through Justin's soft hair.
"I don't know."
"I love you. I.. love you so much."
"You're drunk, Jay."
"Yeah."
He breathed.
"That won't make me love you less tho."
Taylor smiled and slightly shook her head, still caressing his hair.
"Trust me, babygirl, I.. I tried. I wanted to stop being in love with you but.. I can't."
She now took a deep breath. Justin was silent, now, with his whole weight against her. Taylor could feel his warm, heavy breath on her skin. He could barely keep his eye open, she knew he was close to fall asleep.
"Me neither."
She whispered.
"I can't stop being in love with you either."
