Her eyes

As I stared into his black eyes, I felt fear. I could not only feel but see the darkness that covered him. It was almost like his second skin, and if I was right he was very proud of it. How in the world was I gonna get away from him. He continued to stare at me for who knows how long. To me it felt like hours, then he smiled. Not a friendly smile, to me it looked evil. Even his eyes had a shine to it, he was satisfied with what he saw. And what that was I really had no idea.

" So it really is you." I had no idea if he wanted an answer or not so I kept quiet.

" What a pathetic thing to be gifted with such power. I expected a woman, not a child."

He knew what I could do. But how, I don't know where I am but I knew it wasn't home. Even the air felt different. So how did someone, from wherever this is, know about my secret. Then I remembered the three men and what they had said. They also knew about me , but how. What did they want with me. What good could controlling emotions do. My thoughts were interrupted when I felt him pulling me. He shoved me up against the tree and pushed me to the ground. He turned around and headed towards a stream. I watched as he went to his knees and began to drink from the stream. He poured some water into something that looked like a pouch and made his way back to me. He bent down to my level and offered me the water. All I did was stare at it.

" Drink or I'll shove it down your throat. We have a ways to go and you getting sick from lack of water will only slow me down. Now drink." and I did. One because he really would shove it down my throat and two because I was really thirsty. After I drank he walked to his horse and started to take of the saddle from him. He took out a blanket and laid it on the floor

" Do not think to escape. You will not get far."then he went to sleep.

It was dark out and if it wasn't because of the situation I was in I would have enjoyed the beautiful sky above me. There were so many stars it was beautiful. He had fallen asleep but I couldn't. I was worried about what would happen to me and what happened to my brother. I wish he was here with me. I felt movement near me, when I looked I noticed the horse had moved towards a patch of grass. I had forgotten about him. He was beautiful, but dangerous. He lifted his head and stared at me. And then I felt it, the hurt, the fear, the distrust. So much pain yet he stood proud and strong challenging everyone. I also felt the loyalty for the man sleeping across from me. I wanted to cry for the horses pain but above that I felt humbled. While a hid from everyone this horse had gotten stronger and faced everyone with his head held high. I bowed my head a bit to him and instead of sending him the feeling of sympathy I sent him the feeling of respect. The horse looked taken aback by this, but was grateful.

After a while I began to shiver from the cold. Before I saw him the horse he was laying down next to me giving me his body heat. I was grateful. I half laid on top of him and finally felt asleep. I knew this kindness didn't mean he was on my side but I felt safe with him.

I just couldn't believe what I saw as I woke up the next day. I hardly slept last night thinking about her. There was something about her that drew me. Yesterday when I stared into her eyes, they kept changing colors, and when I touched her I felt my body react. She was a little thing, a little mouse. I had been too long with out a woman, it was the only explanation. I needed to hurry and get back to the castle and make use of a real woman. But what I saw when I awoke was not what I had expected. Demon, the war horse, feared by all was snuggling with her. What could have happened to get him to behave that way. He had spent a year getting the horse to be loyal to him and in less than a day she has him as a bed and blanket.

As I approached Demon stirred waking her in the process. As soon as she sat up Demon rose and made his way to some grass. I stared at her eyes again but this time the were a pale blue. I felt my body respond again. I needed a woman soon before this becomes a habit.

I woke up when I felt something move under me. As soon as I opened my eyes I remembered everything from the day before, I was really hoping that it was a dream. I was sad remembering that Damian was not with me and what those men might have done to him. The horse stood up leaving me to face his owner alone. There was something different about him today. He was still covered in darkness but I didn't feel like he meant me harm today more like I felt he was curious and shocked about something. But there was another feeling I couldn't explain, it felt like lust, but that wasn't possible. I knew he thought of me as nothing more than a tool to use for what ever it is he wanted with me. I disgusted him, I felt it, so it couldn't be lust I felt. It just couldn't.

" Eat." with that he threw some bread and cheese that I hadn't notice he was holding and walked away.

After I was done eating he gave me some water and started to get the horse saddled. I needed to know what he wanted to do with me, even if I was scared of him.

" What are you gonna do with me?" he stared at me for a while but looked away and went back to what he was doing. That got me mad, he could at least answer me.

" I said, what do you want from me?" this time I almost yelled the question. I thought he was gonna ignored me but than he turned and faced me.

" I will try to use your powers to my advantage, if not than I will be rid of you." once I processed the words in my head, I did the one thing I should have done as soon as I was off the horse. I ran.
