After a long day of school, and a few more taunts from Karkat, the last bell went off. I hurried to my locker, grabbed my bookbag and exited the front of the school. As she said at lunch, Kanaya was right by the doors, waiting for me. She waved goodbye to Rose and started my way. When she reached my side, we started down the front steps.

"D-Did you ditch Rose t-to be with me?" I asked, feeling bad if she changed plans with her . . . girlfriend, just to walk me to my hive.

"It is fine, Tavros," Kanaya responded, still looking ahead. "I spend most of my day with Rose anyways. I told her for the next few weeks or so that I will be walking you home."

I looked forward now. "A-And what did she say?"

Kanaya now looked at me, smiling. "What do you think?"

I chuckled, understanding. We continued to walk, sometimes in a comfortable silence, sometimes talking about the day. Soon, we arrived at my hive and I thanked Kanaya.

"Shall I stop by tomorrow morning to take you to school?" Kanaya asked while I stood in the open entryway to my hive.

I shook my head. "N-No. My moirial should be here tomorrow to get me."

Kanaya nodded. "Alright. Goodbye."

"Bye Kanaya."

She turned and left and I quickly shut my door behind me, rushing to my respiteblock to check on Gamzee.
