My Wedding Date

Before Sarah comes walking down the isle, I look at Aiden on the other side of the sanctuary. He is watching his brother, Adam, watch Sarah as she makes her way towards us.

I suppose Aiden felt me staring at him because he suddenly looks over at me. I avert my eyes from his but can still feel him staring at me.

Sarah greets Adam and the ceremony finally begins.

The officant starts by saying ' Dear family and friends, we are gathered here today... ' and whatnot.

The fact that Aiden is less than ten feet away from me, makes me want to squirm and get out of his sight. There is a discomforting feeling as he stares at me. I try to focus on Sarah and Adam, yet I haven't been listened to a word the officant is saying.

They say their Vows and begin the I Do's.

" Adam you may kiss your bride. "

And he does.

After the new married couple walks down the isle, the groomsmen and bridesmaids follow.

" That's was interesting, wasn't it? " Aiden says as he walked by my side.

I decide to ignore him and smile at the guest.

We went off to the after party. I went straight to the bar and asked them to knock out the vodka.

Once I was satisfied with my state of being wasted, I hop off the stool and walk around.

I find Aiden leaning against the wall with his face in his phone, again.

" Hey Mr. Antie-social, come dance with me. "

Aiden looks up from his phone with a blank face.

" You're drunk. "

" Nooooooo... I'm thrashed. " I say sticking my tongue out like a metal-rock guitarist.

He at least kinda smirked at that, instead of his emotionless feature.

" I'm good thank you, Nora. "

" It's Dora. Get your facts straight. "

" Okay Dora, maybe you should go look for boots. "

" Boots! Oh I love shopping for those. They're great to wear in the snow, rain, mud, and tornadoes. "

" How much have you had to drink tonight? "

" Ummmmmmmmmmmmm.... " I hold up five fingers. " high five. Get it because I'm high and I had seven drinks. " I laugh and lean on the wall next to him.

" Do you want me to take you to your house? "

" To your house? Are you trying to get me to sleep with you? I just want to dance! " I say pulling on his arm like a child.

" You can go dance. I will wait here. "

I frown. " But I want you to dance with me. " I look up at him and pull on his arm again.

" You're not going to leave me alone are you? "

" You betcha, Diego. " I say walking us to the dance floor.

Shawn Mendes, There's Nothing Holding Me Back, is playing.

" I LOVE THIS SONG, DIEGO! "

I jump around with no clue what I am doing. I notice Aiden standing next to me and I latch onto him. He's taken by surprise, but he quickly recoveres as he places his hands on my waist.

" I don't know if I should be telling you this, but I am kinda turned on right now. "

" Yea you shouldn't be telling me that. " He chuckles. " I think the drinks have gotten to you.
