"Shit!" I curse under my breath. I just dropped my bowl of cereal everywhere. As I try to quickly clean it up, my mother walks into the room."Oh dear honey," she whispers trying to hold in a giggle, "what happened?"
"Nothing." That kind of ruined my mood.
"Okay." She said rolling her eyes. She picked up her purse and fixed her hair the mirror by the door.
"Hey mom?"
"Yes honey?" She looks down at me.
"Umm I won tickets to a concert in two weeks. Can you take me?"
"What?" She looks almost stunned as she stares back at me.
"What."
"When did you win these?" She questions with an arched eyebrow.
"A couple days ago."
"You got them on the internet didn't you!" She fumes.
"Mom, I kno-" I start but she cuts me off.
"You know how I feel about the web. You're gonna get kidnapped! I am not taking you to this concert because it's just a trap!"
"Mom, it's not a trap." I counter calmly. She was about ready to slap me, "Here, I'll prove it." I honestly didn't know how I would.
I whipped out my phone trying to get to twitter, but the damn thing froze, again! Slowly my gaze falls upon my impatient mother. I awkwardly smile at her, and she storms off to her room. Ugh, this might not work. And I seriously need a better phone.

Roxy_Sartorius: Hey, I need your help! My mom doesn't believe that the show is real. UGH she's soooo paranoidJacobSartorius:Well... we can skype! I can have Bart talk to her and prove that everything is legitimate and then you can go!!
Roxy_Sartorius: Not bad! I hope it will work... when is an ok time for you
JacobSartorius: I'm good rn. I'm in the hotel with Cameron Taylor and Bart.

Doo doo doo (Skype call sound??)
He quickly accepted. The face cam turns on and I see it hazel eyes and flushed cheeks immediately.
"Hey." He says grinning.
"Hi!" I said making a weird face he chuckles. "Mom!" I yell from the living room. "I have proof!" I can hear her trudging down the steps angrily.
"Roxy, I already told yo-" I hear her stop. She looks at Jacob on my laptop screen. "Wh-who is that?" She asks warily.
"This," I say pointing Jacob, "is Jacob Sartorius! He will be performing at the concert in two weeks." I say in an I-told-you-so tone. "The same concert I need a ride to."
My mom looks at the screen intensely.
"Bart," Jacob suddenly yells, "we have a lovely woman here who needs proof our show is legitimate and completely safe for her daughter to attend." He says gallantly. Honestly, I was surprised he could sound so professional, he sounded like a real gentleman. Bart soon comes onto the screen.
"Hello ma'am!" Bart says cheerfully.
"Hi. Uhh-um I have some questions." My mother states.
"Of course! Ask away." Bart answers.
They converse for some time. Jacob and I just make weird faces at each other for the corners of the frame.
-
"Well I think we are done here." My mother finishes.
"Yes ma'am. I would be honored to pick up your lovely daughter two days prior to the show!" Bart says finally as he walks away. My mother goes back upstairs. I quickly look at the clock. Wow. It's been and hour and half.
"Well I'm super excited." I say to Jacob.
"Yeah.." Jacob airily trails of. We stare at each other for a few moments, then I realize what was happening.
"Welp," I say awkwardly, "I think I'd better go! You seem busy." Jacob seemed confused.
"Actual-"
"Oh yeah! I have to study!" I say quickly, cutting him off, "Bye!" I ended the call with out another word. That wasn't cringe-worthy at all.
