Sue Storm

She had barely slept last night between the party and... Reed. Sue wanted to slap herself, Johnny was right and even the thought of agreeing with her brother made her sick, but he was right, she had to be sure of her choice.

The classes were starting and she found herself sitting alone, Crystal, who would normally sit with her, was too busy gossiping with Elektra about last night's party, so Sue was left alone to contemplate the empty seat beside her.
The bell rang and Dr Selvig entered, she quickly looked down at her bag to get her notebook and pen, just then she heard a familiar cough, Sue looked up to see Reed standing next to her

"Good morning" he greeted

"Hi"

He pointed at the seat next to her "Would you mind if I sit, I think Crystal took my place"

Sue nodded "Sure"

She wasn't even exaggerating when she realized that was the longest conversation they had had since the summer.
Dr Selvig began his class and they starting taking notes of what he explained, Sue thought this was going better than what she had thought, well it was anyway until Dr Selvig had to excuse himself for a minute and left the class.

Sue looked over at Crystal but her friend had no intention of changing seats, Reed sat in complete silence making it more awkward, so she decided to break the ice.

"How have you been?" She tried asking

For a second Reed didn't answer "Fine, yourself?"

"The same you know"

He nodded

The two looked at the board until she sighed "Listen Reed, could we talk? Really talk"

He looked at her the way as if nothing had happened between them, as if they were still together, she could die with those eyes.
"I don't think now is the time"

She wanted to hug him and tell him how stupid she had been and that she still loved him very much, but instead she said "I don't want things to be weird between us, you are still my best friend and I don't want to loose you because of a stupid relationship"

Ouch, she hadn't meant that! It hadn't been stupid, she was the stupid one!

Reed nodded, his sweet look was gone "Of course Sue, anything you say"

"I didn't mean that in a bad way-" she tried explaining

But he stopped her "Just don't worry okay, I get it, it was a stupid idea of trying to date each other, we are very different

"What do you mean? I thought that we were friends" she asked suddenly hurt

He suddenly seemed angry "No Sue, you are just perfect and I am... Well I am a person who gets over obsessed with work and projects, and I hardly remembers you exist apparently, so yeah you can't date a guy like me"

"What?! Where did you get that idea from?" Sue was suddenly yelling, everyone was looking at them

"Where?! I'll tell you where Sue, your mouth, I heard you telling Johnny okay? I understand that you don't want anything to do with me and that I was just a stupid nerd you dated, but I am sorry that I am making you uncomfortable"

Sue snorted, he was doing his irony tone "Seriously Reed? You think I didn't care?"

He took a deep breath and said low enough for only her to hear "Does it matter to you what I think or what I feel?"

"Of course it does" she answered

Just then Dr Selvig entered "I am sorry, we will continue the class"

The two stared at each other, their eyes expressed words they would never say.
He wanted to say sorry and touch her face, to hold her...
She wanted to cry and tell her she had made a mistake, to kiss him...

But all they did was resume taking notes...then they heard the explosion
