CHAPTER FOUR

He led me down the hallway and past my room where the door was still partially open. I heard humming coming from inside as we past bit it was gone when Alec turned the corner.

He led me I to the first room but when I expected to stop behind the trees at the targets but instead he led me to the back part.

In the back there was a small steel door with a bronze sign above it reading, 'Evaluation Chamber'.

Chamber. I don't think I like this.

He punched in a code at the pad to the side and opened the door for me to go through before him.

I stood there, uncertain if I should go or not. He nodded his head, telling me to go in.

I cautiously walked into the room looking around. It was all cement walls, but the floors were padding.

My thoughts were stopped when I heard the door close with a thud. I turned around, expecting it to be just me left in the room, but there stood Alec, looking over me as if he was studying me.

I shuffled awkwardly under his stare. He walked around me, not lifting his stare.

"This is evaluation. It's where we will determine your rank based on fighting skills. To find all this you will fight against me."

"Y-y-you," I stuttered, unsure what to say.

He seemed to see my discomfort and fear. "I'll go easy."

"I'm not going to fight you." He raised his eyebrow and gave me a half smirk. "I only fight people who make me mad, or that I hate."

He took and intimidating step forward and I took a identical one back.

"What? Do I scare you?!" He took another aggressive step forward and was towering over me, making me shrink down.

"Just fight me." He gave me a look, and I knew it was a demand.

"I don't want to hurt you," I said, getting a snort in reply. He held up his hands and I matched him. Throwing the first punch, he took a step toward me. I moved around it and kicked his leg out from under him.

He hopped back up and took a swing, hitting me it the jaw.

I fell to the floor and flinched in the pain as I felt my jaw ache. "You need to do better than that to get in the rank you should."

He stood over me, his eyes staring down at me in all seriousness. I kicked his legs out from under him and, while he was mid-air, put my arm across his chest, slamming him to the mat.

He let out a wince and look up at me from the mat. "Impresssive."

I felt myself being flown across the mat and landed with a thud, inches away from the cement wall.

He stood over me, a foot by the outside of each of my knees. I took the proximity to the walk and reached up pushing off, sliding on the slick mat through his legs.

I rolled over on my stomach and stood up. I was standing just in time to take a small blow to the stomach ,and I was stuck back into the corner of the room.

Before Alec could reach the walk to corner me I ran from the corner and back out to meet him in the middle of the mat.

He threw a punch at me, which I successfully blocked. I used my elbow and sent him a blow to the shoulder, temporarily phasing him.

I tackled him to the ground and put my feet to hold down his legs and used my arms to hold down his hands.

"Yugh cafn gwt owf me nowugh."

"What?" I let him get up and he rolled over so his face wasn't shoved into the mat.

"I said 'you an get off me now', but never mind."

I hopped up an reached out my hand, by he was already standing. His eyes skimmed over me as I they were looking for a fault. "Nice job."

Just as the words came out of his mouth the metal door to the room came open and hit the wall. He man came stalking through. His eyes that were first soft, when they landed on me, formed into anger and a violent look.

"Asher. Don't."

The man looked from Alec to me, as if he was trying to decide.

Obviously it listening to Alec, the man Asher charged to me, furious.

He places his hand on my throat and I immediately started choking for air. "You feel it? What you did to her! You tore her apart. You-"

"Asher. Let her go," Alec ordered slowly, carefully as if Asher might blow.

"Why should I? Huh? You know what she did!"

My vision was going black and I was letting out choking coughs and gasps for air and trying weak attempts at escaping. I gave Alec a pleading look and I started to loose vision, with it turning to black.

"Head wanted her. If you do this, you know what will happen. Asher, don't." Asher's grip loss ended and he let me fall to the floor. Mangled and dry coughs came out from me as I tried to get the air back in.

"Only because of Head. But if it weren't or her, I wouldn't have hesitated right then and there. Just looking at her disgusts me."

My vision became even more black and I slipped from conciousness, still gasping for air.
