I hear more sounds coming from the aurora, it sounds like the titanium structure beams are going to collapse.
And who knows what will happen if the aurora collapses... I can only imagine the worst thing possible.
I prepare myself to dive into the ocean once again, equipping my knife and spectroscope to do some research on this planet, i can see some small broken boxes with the Alterra logo on it. As i come closer to the boxes i hear a loud snarl and growl behind me...
I turn around my lungs fill up with fear, an long swordfish-like creature is swimming towards me with an incredible speed, i grab my knife and i swing it around in an attempt to scare off the creature but it didn't work, as it came closer and closer it opened it's beak, revealing an long and huge set of teeth.
In an final attempt to save my own life i throw an piece of titanium salvage at the creature, and it worked!
I threw the piece as hard as i could towards the creature and it bit the salvage like it was soft meat...
I returned to the surface to get some fresh air after this near death experience, after i calmed down a bit i returned to my lifepod and salvaged the scraps into titanium.
My PDA starts beeping:
Warning! The dark matter drive core is in critical condition, all observers should be out of range, explosion range is aproximatly: 5km, nuclear detona.. tii..iion in: 10, 9, 8...
I exit my lifepod and i scan the range between The Aurora and my lifepod, 5.2km... I realized i was now witnessing an disaster, three... T..tw..ooo... Oooo...nnn..ee...
My PDA went suddenly silent... I hear an noise that sounded like an muffled explosion, it was silent for 5 seconds but it felt like an eternity but then,
i saw a huge fireball comming from the Aurora's drive engines followed by an loud explosion...
An piece of the Aurora just barely missed me, the shockwave of the blast pushed me off my lifepod back into the water, i tried to get back to the surface quickly.
I enter my lifepod again, the EMP blast didn't destroy my lifepod's systems but my PDA is showing some signs of damage. The blast that damaged the dark matter drive core had now polluted the waters with radioactive nuclear waste...
