" LACEY COME ON!! WE ARE GOING TO BE LATE FOR THE GAME!!! Yells an annoyed Nina from downstairs

I was fixing my hair into a nice donut bun and staring at myself in the mirror. I must say I was feeling this pink sundress. It complimented my brown skin. The white nail polish did as well. I strap on my nude sandals and grab my nude colored bag.

" LACEYYYY!!" yells Nina as she enters the room

" Nina I'm ready. Gosh!" I say

I was staying in Brooklyn with Nina and her cousins for the weekend because she wanted me to attend this annual cookout and basketbal tournament. I wasn't really up for it, but since I promised to spend time with Nina before I leave for school I decided to go. We headed downstairs to the car where Nina's cousin Serenity was waiting for us.

" Come on girls" she says

We get in the car and drive off. As we reach the park, it feels like there are hundreds of people here. There's people grilling, little kids running around and playing, guys playing dice, and women dancing to music being blasted from the trunks of cars. I must say it was lit!

" Alright ya'll the game starts at four-thirty so don't be late. I'm going to hang out with my friends for a while. Serenity says while turning off the engine

Me and Nina walk around the park to kill time. We go and get hot dogs and sodas and talk for the time being.

As time approaches me and Nina walk to the basketball court where it's almost packed out. We find Serenity and her friends and sit as we wait for the game to start. Serenity passes around candy and chips as we wait. There are two teams playing. The Panthers and The Eagles. Nina says she always goes for the Eagles, so I guess I am too. And I must say, these basketball players are FINE! The majority of the were tall and brown skin. Some had tattoos, some didn't. I knew I was going to enjoy this game.

It's half tme and The Pathers were beating The Eagles by four. Since

it was halftime people were able to get up and get a snack from where they were giving the snacks out. I was getting hungry so I decided to get up and get a hamburger from the grill. I notice some of the players from the Eagles team sitting around there driking water and cooling off. As i approach the grill, this tall dark skin guy says something to me.

" Yo ma, you pretty as hell" he says

I Blush. I continue to talk to the man behind the grill and tell him what I want on my burger.

" Yo ma, you can't speak. I said you're pretty"

I turn to the boy and say thank you. As I grab my hamburger and head back to my seat, the darkskin guy grabs my arm

" Yo ma, what's ya name?"

" Let go of me" I say

" Eww Bitch. Don't act like that " he yells

" First off. who you calling a bitch. I yell back. " You got some fucking nerve."

" I'm calling you a bitch. What you gonna do?" he challenges.

Before I knew it, I threw my hamburger in his face and he grabbed a hold of my bun yanking my hair.

" AHHH, GET OFF ME!" I scream.

Next thing I knew there was a crowd surrounding us and I started swinging, not caring about who or what I hit. I heard an older man say break it up but I was so angry everything went through one ear and out the other. After that, all I remember was being picked up in the air and taken out the park.
