I covered his wound with my two hands in attempt to stop the bleeding as I looked around for help. I forgot my phone back at Alexis' house so I couldn't call an ambulance. I was so focused on finding help that I didn't even think about why that man shot Matt or what he meant by "give me back what was mine" but that wasn't very important to me at that moment. I found a helpful and kind man that was generous enough to call an ambulance with his phone and waited for it with Matt and I. I was so worried for Matt, I really wanted him to be okay. But after the ambulance came, I sat in the back with him and I couldn't help but wonder why that man shot him. Or what he wanted from Matt. As I walked to the waiting room while the doctors were stitching Matt up, I had a bad feeling in my gut. I always hated hospitals, ever since my grandfather died of cancer. I would always visit him weekly and he was the only family member that I felt I could trust, I always counted on him when I was feeling down, and he gave the best advice. I sat on the couch and waited for Matt, until I noticed this strangely familiar face. She was a girl with brown hair that fell till her shoulders, and she had freckles on her nose. She was dressed in a blue top and black ripped jeans accompanied by a pair of white shoes. It was Eva, my childhood best friend. She was such an amazing companion to me until she moved away and after that, I hadn't seen her for 9 years. I stood in shock as I noticed her wonder the hospital halls and decided to approach her, hoping she would remember me. I walked up to her and greeted her. She first stood, perplexed, but then she sighed. "Omg, Mia, I can't believe its you, we haven't talked in years". We talked for hours afterwards, we discussed about all the things that we used to do together, and everything that happened after we separated. I asked what she was doing in blueville, and she said that it was where she moved to when we separated. Our conversation was interrupted by Matt walking in on us talking. I don't know why but Matt and Eva stared at each other for a while, Matt had kind of an upset expression on his face. He angrily sighed "Eva..." and proceeded to ask me how I knew her. I told him the whole story, but when I asked how they new each other, he stayed silent and asked for us to leave immediately. I agreed, but just before we left, I exchanged numbers with Eva in hopes that we wouldn't lose contact again. When we arrived at Alexis' place, Kelly jumped onto Matt and asked if he was ok. Of course she didn't care about me, I always had the feeling that she never really liked me but it was alright because I wasn't too fond of her either. Alexis asked if I was alright and asked what happened to Matt. I explained the whole story, but I noticed that when I mentioned the part where the man shot Matt, they all nervously glared at each other, as if they were trying to hide something. Thats what I thought anyways. That entire day, none of us went outside. We just relaxed at home after the terrifying incident that happened earlier in the day. Everything was quite for the most of it, although I kept on getting this strange vibe that the three were hiding something. When I asked Matt about it, he was surprisingly angry that I brought it up, and he told me that I was just being paranoid. But I didn't believe him, I knew something was up. I was tired of laying around all day so I decided to meet up with Eva. We met at this small coffee shop a few blocks away from Alexis' house. I liked it there, it reminded me of Kirla caffe back home, even though I hated that town, the Kirla caffe was the one thing I liked about it. The coffee shop was called little Alfie's coffee and it had the same amazing smell of grinded coffee just like the caffe back home, although the decor was completely different, it was more of a dark setting. Eva and I sat at a table at the back of the caffe, it was kind of a booth. We talked about different things, although the one thing that I really wanted to ask her was how she knew Matt, but I was afraid that she would get upset and wouldn't want to talk to me anymore. After a while I finally summed up the courage to ask her, and she told me that her and Matt had some unfinished business from the past. I didn't really know what she meant by that but I didn't want to push her either. At around 8pm, I decided to go back to the house when I noticed something carved into the wall near the steps that Matt had taken me to the other night. It was something that looked like " screw society" then it was signed: Eva, Matt, Kelly and Alexis. Thats when I realised that Eva was probably friends with Alexis and Kelly too, but I still didn't know why Matt hated her so much. When I arrived at the house, it was completely empty, no one was home. But someone left a note on the fridge, the writing was really messy and hard to read, and all I understood was We'll be back tomorrow. Where had they gone?
