Chapter 12

Derek just walked through the door then set his stuff down then walked over to me behind the counter. He kissed me on the cheek then said "mmm dinner smells good. You're finally getting the hang of cooking." He turned me around and had me where my back was against the counter.

"Yeah being at home and not working has given me the chance to learn to cook." I had my arm around his neck and then kissed him on the lips.

"Where are the kids?"

"In their rooms watching tv." He started kissing me. "I would really love to continue but dinner is about to be ready." I kissed him one last quick kiss on the lips then went back to cooking.

"We need a night out, it better yet just a night alone. I'm sure Cristina could watch them?"

"Yeah. I'll talk to her tomorrow. She is going to meet me at the park during lunch." Just then my phone started ringing.

"Hey Meredith I was just calling you back from earlier. I was going to tell you the sex of the baby."

"Oh okay, hold on one second." I turned to Derek, "will you get the chicken out of the oven please?" He nodded then I got back on the phone. "Okay sorry. what are you having?"

There was a pause, then "A BOY!" she about screamed it.

"Wow I'm excited for you Callie! congratulations."

"Thanks you. I've got to go. Talk to you soon. Bye."

"Who was that?"

"It was Callie, they are having a boy. thanks for getting the chicken out. I'll go get the kids." I got everybody ready for dinner, fed Emilie her bottle then the rest of us started eating.

"So guess who I saw today at the store."

"Umm. I don't know. Who?"

"Finn, the vet."

"Oh really. Did he see how gorgeous you still are and try to hook up with you."

I rolled my eyes at him across the table. " No he saw the kids and said he is glad we ended up together. And he just recently got married."

"Oh well that's good."

Derek cleaned up the table and dishes while I started getting the kids theirs baths and ready for bed.

"Are they asleep?"

"No I laid them down and told them we would come tuck them in together."

Derek rocked Emilie to sleep while I took a shower. Then we tucked Bailey in and got him to sleep then Zola. "Goodnight Zozo daddy loves you."

"And mommy to. Sweet dreams." I added.

Then the best part of the night. The time where I got to get some sleep to.

"Good morning" said a smiling Derek before kissing my forehead.

"You seem cheerful this morning. What's up?"

"Nothing except you're supposed to ask Cristina if she'll babysit tonight."

I chuckled and looked at him. "you are excited about this aren't you? and I remembered."

"Just a little," he said chuckling. then gave me a kids and got out of the bed.

I sat up. "and if she says no?"

"Ha she won't say no. But if she does we have Richard."

Oh whatever, he was right she wouldn't say no. Even if she did we had other people who would gladly watch them.
