Where had we stopped the last time? Oh, Caroline had to tell her aunt everything. Now a month has passed since that day. The time of the village fete had come. All the girls in the village were preparing for it. Just not Caroline ...

"You will come with me!" My aunt said in a grave tone. I looked at Mary-Anne with an angry look.
"What, you did not leave me any choice, I had to ask your aunt for help, or you'd never have come with me."
"I'm not coming." I replied sternly.
"Oh, you will my dearest niece, because i got you this", she pulled out a beautiful summer dress. My eyes were sticking to it, just like the Mary-Annes, "and I want it not to be rotten in the closet."
"A dress does not rot." I was still shocked at the beauty of the dress.
"Yeah yeah, shut your mouth." We all laughed and she put the blue dress on my little petite hands. Then she left the room and left Mary and me alone."You can hardly take your eyes off the dress." My best friend noted.
"Seems so." I said, smiling."Does that mean you give the dress a chance?" "I am considering it."
With this answer Mary screeched and danced through my whole room. She did not have much space because my room was so small. That did not stop her though, because she got onto my bed and jumped on it.She beamed with joy, though I had not even said yes. For this I loved her so much. She was always positive and happy.
The fete was tomorrow. I don't really have the urge to go, but the dress is so beautiful I would like to wear it absolutely. Especially I do not have many clothes and such a dress in no way.
Where did Aunt Lussinda get that dress from? I hope she did not have to give all her savings. I have to ask her and find out what the price was.~ * ~
The next morning I woke up earlier than usual, so I decided to take my book and go out. In the back of our house there was a small stream, which I followed for almost five minutes until i got away from all the houses. Only a large tree stands here next to the streak. On a green and healthy meadow. I sat down, as always on the meadow and leaned against the tree.
From a distance you can see the village and our house. I loved this place. No one but me came here. This is where i get my peace.
Then I began to read. One of my favourite books. Pride and Prejudice of the talented Jane Austin. A love like that of Mr. Darcy and Mrs. Elizabeth is rare in this world. The real love is almost never found.
That's why books fascinate me so much. Dreams and hopes that you can hardly find in your life are between the pages of this novel. Who would not like to sink into one of these books and fall into the arms of a dream prince?
Only such a thing will in fact not happen. My body can not live in one of these books, but my thoughts can venture into it.
The dawn had already begun after reading some pages. I watched the full sunrise. The warmth hit my face and slowly it was too warm to continue reading. Which is why I went back home.
"You were reading again, am i right?" Father asked as I entered our small kitchen through the back door. I replied with a small smile. My mother came to the kitchen and did not look at me. Only her words were once again ice-cold and clear "Instead of dealing with such books, you should learn how to cook." "Mother, I can cook." I countered.
Suddenly she looked at me. "Oh, why don't you cook then?" "Because you always do it." My father was laughing and my mother was already raging. "Be glad that today is the fete, you are going there, otherwise you would be grounded now!"
The fete ... right that was today. Great, my mother even forces me. At least I am not grounded. "Your aunt Lussinda will take you to the hair salon, I would like you to get the attention of young men, and do not always speak of your books, your interest in education could frighten the gentlemen."
"Mrs. Forbes, it's enough, our daughter is pretty enough to convince men of her, and a man with an uneducated woman always has problems." "What does that mean, Mr. Forbes, am I too uneducated for you?" My father laughed, gave my mother a kiss on the forehead and said "Well maybe a little." And got a blow on the arm. My mother and her "sense of humor".
At 3 pm I went to the hair salon with my aunt. The salon belonged to a good friend of my her. They had known each other since primary school. Whenever we wanted to cut our hair or have to go to the hairdresser for something else, we came here. One of the reasons were that we did not have enough money for another place and Janette made it more affordable to us.
"Lussinda Lussinda, you hardly show up." Janette greeted my aunt with a hug and a kiss on her left and right cheek. "Oh dear Caroline, you have become a pretty girl." She came up to me and looked at my long blond hair. "Thank you." I said shyly.
"It's been a year since I last saw you." Said Janette. "Well Janette you were not here for a long time too, your honeymoon lasted months." aunti Lussinda laughed.
"You have to tell me everything in detail, but first we come to the essential, today is the fete, so how pretty can you make us both?""Well leave that to me."Janette winked and prepared us. I am curious about the result.
