With a queasy feeling in my stomach I entered the kitchen. My mother was already exited, knowing he would come to dinner tonight. When she noticed me, she eyed my clothes and shook her head. "No, Caroline, not that. Put on the dress I bought you." she demanded coldly and I rolled my eyes. Klaus is just coming for dinner, not to go to a ball with me. Despite my contradictions in my head, I re-entered my small room and pulled the dress out of the closet.

It was a simple red dress. No patterns, no beads, nothing. It was just red. That was one of the reasons why I could stand the dress too. I like simple clothes. I changed my clothes a second time and went downstairs. Aunt Lussinda already laid the table, which is why I helped her.

I thought of my dad. He sat on the patio and looked out into the street. He certainly had a weird feeling too. To meet the son of his best friend and then find out how his best friend fared. What was in the letter that Klaus would give my father? "That should be enough." My mother said when the table was completely set and we examined our masterpiece. When I suddenly realized that something was missing. "Hold on!" I called and ran frantically into the kitchen, opened te refrigator and took out the most important. The chilli Sauce, which was the reason why we invited Klaus in the first place. Back at the Living room where we had set up our dining table, when we get a visit, I put the chilli sauce on the table. Then I noticed my mother and Aunt Lussinda stood at the window and looked out. Both quietly listening to what is going on out there. I approached the two. "So what's going on?" I asked and was immediatly shouted "Pshhht be quiet, your dad is Talking to this pretty young man." my mother said and became silent. He was here? I looked at the clock. He was punctual, I thought inside and got nervous. What Kind of impression will he make on my parents ? Does that mean that when he meets my parents, we become close Friends? So many questions buzzed in my head, but I was brought back to reality when my mother opened the door and asked the two in.

Klaus's POV

I made my way to the house of Forbes. With a bouquet of flowers in my left and chocolates in my Right. The nervous heartbeat did not leave me alone. What if they don't like me? What if Mr. Forbes does not accept my dads letter? Will Caroline be there too? Of Course she will be there, she lives there. I had borrowed the car from my friend and drove it to the neighboring village. I stopprd at the address that Carolines aunt had written me on a piece of paper before leaving the supermarket. Before I could get out, however, I saw a man sitting on the patio and looking out into the street. He had not noticed me yet. That must be Mr. Forbes. I paused for a moment. The nervousness rose in me. Then I gathered myself and left the car. The mans eyes saw me and stuck on me. With a smile I entered the patio where he stood. "Are you Mister Forbes? Excuse me, I'm disturbing you. Sir, I have chocolates and and flowers." I stammered to myself and held one of my hands out to greet him, desperatly trying to hold chocolates and flowers in the other. Carolines got up and came up to me. He eyed me and a smile graced his lips as he suddenly embraced me. "You look more like your father than I thought." he said and pride can be heard in his voice. I was not nervous anymore and I thanked my dads friend. At that moment, the front door opened and a Lady appeared with a smile on her face. That must be Carolines mother, because it is certainly not her aunt. "Come in. Welcome. The food is already served." Misses Forbed welcomed me and I entered the hallway. "The chocolates are for you all." I said and handed her the chocolates. "And the flowers must be for me." Someone suddelny laughed and I realized who it was. That was Carolines aunt, what was her Name? Lussinda? Yes, exactly Lussinda. "Honestly" I wanted to start and became silent as I saw Caroline coming into the hallway. My eyes stayed on her and she looked at me. For a Brief moment i had the feeling we are the only once in this house. Suddenly someone cleared his throat, Carolines father. I had stared at her for too long. A grin appeared on the lips of the two ladies and I blushed. "Honestly, they were for Caroline." I approached her and handed her the flowers. "Without you, Caroline, I would not have found your father so early to give him " I pulled the letter out from the pocket of my jacket "...that." Caroline smiled and thanked me.

"How sweet of you, that was a joke, I knew that the flowers were for Caroline." her aunt laughed again. "Now let us all sit on the table, the food is getting cold." Misses Forbes invited us and we sat down. "Mister Forbes I would like to " I started to tell but my father old friend said " Let's eat first, we'll talk together in private." He smiled at me and I calmed down again. He must have noticed that I must be nervous. With a glance, I recognized the chilli sauce that stood there on the generously covered table. Which made me smile. Caroline served the food and now and then I could not help but watch her. She looks pretty, more beautiful than in my dream.
