Lucy's POV
Ian and I sat on the plane as the flight attendant made the final call before we set off. "Hey, you excited?" Ian asked, holding my hand.
"Super excited. I haven't seen Momma or Daddy in so long. And Maggie" I say, almost squealing at the thought of it.
"I'm excited to see them too" Ian said. "It's the first time, I'm visiting them as your boyfriend. I'm kind of nervous"
"Don't be nervous. They love you" I assured him.
"They loved me when I wasn't kissing on their daughter" Ian raises his eyebrows and looks over at me with those flirty eyes of his.
"Now, I would suggest you don't bring that up around my dad" I say, patting him on the chest and resorting back to the magazine I was reading.
Soon, we had landed and we were officially in Tennessee. We enjoyed the rest of the afternoon staying out of the heat and catching up with my family. When it hit 6:00, it was almost time for my little surprise for Ian.
"Ian, I left your suit on the bed" I say, looking over my shoulder and I walk backwards towards the bed room we were staying in for the weekend. "You should get changed. I'm going into the other room and putting on that red dress you like"
I flirt my eyes, giving him a taste of his own medicine. He had something to look forward to if he did what I said.
"Okay Luce" He says, disappearing into the room.
It didn't take me long before I was waiting for me in front of his room. He swung open the door, I curtzezed for him and he laughed.
"Wow" He says, taking my outstretched hand and following me down the long staircase and into the car where Maggie waited with Lewis.
"Any one want to tell me where we're going?" He asks and everyone stays silent. This was my surprise. He was going to have to wait.
We finally got to the destination and Ian got out first. It didn't look like much if you just glanced at it, but he had no idea what was waiting inside. I led him to the back of the town hall, holding onto his hand. The yard had been decorated with string lights on every tree and there were so many people.
"It's a Tennessee tradition, a tradition I want to share with you. Can I have this dance?" I ask him, letting go of his hand and making my way to the middle of the crowd. He follows me and I hold out my hand once more. I intertwine our fingers and he spins me around. I'm delicate on my feet as I spin slowly, taking in the moment.
I let go of his hand and wrap my arms around his neck, standing on my tippy toes as we sway. Our faces so close, I could hear the small noise of his breathing. A peaceful sound. I touched our noses and I closed my eyes as we continued to dance. I ran my hands through his hair, feeling the little curls that were almost nonexistent.
I removed my hands from his neck and put our fingers back together. They fit perfectly, like a puzzle piece. It was like they were always supposed to be there. We swayed back and forth, spinning once in a while, but never loosing eye contact with each.
"I love you" I whisper into his ear.
"I love you too" He whispers back.
