the time on the taskbar says 3:53 am. he's staring at the glowing green dot on the chat list next to the boy's name. classes start early on tuesdays. why is jimin still online at this hour?

jeongguk can't seem to stay asleep these days. and funnily, the first thing he does when he wakes is check social media. checks if he's already sleeping, see what time he's logged off to be specific. and so often he catches him still lingering.

there are no messages from jimin other than their good nights some few hours earlier. that hurts jeongguk more than he'd admit, for some reason. he wonders if jimin knows he's awake. maybe he does and he just doesn't bother. or maybe he's busy; sometimes he does that, keep his social media tabs open when he's doing something else. mostly playing games. just in case.

just in case what?

his hands hover over the keyboard. there's a what are you doing? waiting to be sent but somehow that feels too much. jimin probably doesn't want to speak to anyone right now. it's too quiet. too perfect. jeongguk knows he likes that. or... maybe he's talking to somebody else. just doesn't want to talk to jeongguk.

he backspaces everything.

when he looks back at the chat list, the green dot has turned into the 'on mobile' icon. it's 4:07 am. he sighs, contemplating. he's said it too much these days, but still types i love you. he hits send, goes back to bed and waits for sleep.
